Skyrim Battles - Thoron vs. Electromancers, Dragon Priest, Zahkriisos, and more

- 10 episodes ago, Thoron made his first appearance in my videos, and he decimated almost everyone in his path. Now he's back, ready to repeat his streak!
The Challenger and Hamelyn use the same generic Bandit Wizard template. Even though they theoretically have access to all 3 elements, they only choose one randomly upon combat, and usually won't switch for a while. An atronach of the same element will make their chosen destruction spell useless, so their only option is to go for their dagger (or fists, as Hamelyn is unarmed).
Thoron finished the round against the Arch Electromancers with 591.217 HP. All of them had high-quality enchanted vanilla daggers which helped them beat Thoron's atronach quickly.
The round with the Frost Giant is pretty balanced. Counter-intuitively, Thoron backing up can decrease his chances to survive, because it prompts the Frost Giant to do a running power attack, doing massive damage and staggering Thoron almost every time. This can happen multiple times in a row, leading to consistent stunlock, and it's an issue with regular giants and Karstaag as well.
Like all giants except for Karstaag, Frost Giants have 33% magic resistance, which is very helpful here. In order to win, Thoron should stay away from the Frost Giant as much as he can, but once he's too close, it's sometimes better to stay in place to avoid triggering his the Frost Giant's running power attack. If Thoron has a lot of space to move and can quickly get out of melee range again, walking away is also an alternative since Frost Giants can only walk, not run (except for the running attacks), unlike all other giants in the game.
For the final round, I considered removing Thoron's summoning spell. Zahkriisos' High Seeker is too weak to beat the atronach if Thoron keeps attacking too, and Zahkriisos has only shock spells, which the atronach is immune to. NPCs usually focus on the closest target (often the summoned creature), and as soon as the High Seeker is gone, Zahkriisos will be defenseless.
I was expecting Thoron to beat Zahkriisos and his Seeker even without having his atronach, but he didn't make it in my tests. To my surprise, when both didn't have their summons, Thoron still lost. The only way to go from there was having a fight with both conjuration spells allowed. Even though Zahkriisos takes huge damage while he's waiting for his Seeker to kill the atronach, he can still recover and defeat Thoron after that. Of course, this is only possible if his Seeker doesn't get targeted by Thoron long enough, since the Seeker is Zahkriisos' only chance of doing any damage to the atronach.
All things considered, Zahkriisos is superior. With no summons allowed, he beats Thoron. With all summons, he still has a good chance despite being completely incapacitated for a pretty long time and getting both his health and magicka depleted. He only loses consistently if Thoron kills his Seeker before his Storm Atronach is gone, or if Thoron has his scripted mechanics including the Saints and Seducers.

I like the intros you have at the beginning and for the toughest opponent at the end. Appropriate and a good length of time. This is the only time when I've wondered why the bloopers were considered bloopers. You do a good job of choosing opponents for the featured character.

Those were bloopers because I've tested Thoron against the Frost Giant dozens of times, and the average result was a win by Thoron. Because I like to show accurate outcomes in the final video, anything that is far from the average is considered a blooper (and anything funny as well). 😄

Thoron is so insanely good with his wards and basically only took damage from ONE fireball
I was surprised Mirabelle still had enough magicka to attempt to heal at the end! 😂
She almost healed herself if she had a second head start x.x
But he couldn't avenge Savos

I feel like she fares quite well under stress in general magicka wise, better than your average arch mage.

I remember doing this quest and expecting some badass boss at the end of this fungal sewer only to run into some weird naked dude 😂
He did blast me away the first time i fought him. Guess it's easy to underestimate a naked guy hiding in the sewers...
It's a very strange encounter, yes! 😂 He looks much less impressive than most other opponents in the game, but damn, he is not to be messed with! 😆

@@lSlendermasterDon't forget that his mask increases his shock damage by 25% and he has a one-handed version of the master spell lightning storm.
@@liamyuki2316 His mask doesn't increase his damage, only his resistance, unlike the player's damage. 😄 The same goes for Ahzidal's and Dukaan's mask; the resistance buff works for NPCs, but the damage boost doesn't. Zahkriisos has a total of 65% shock resistance though, which is a huge!

Shock spells drain magicka. The seeker does as well.
Once Thoron was drained, he was a sitting duck.
That round was hard to predict because they're both highly resistant to each other's spells, and both do high shock damage. Especially with the Storm Atronach distracting Zahkriisos for so long, I wasn't expecting him to still win 😂
