Still works at 5/18/2024 for people who are new make sure to jump off the air vent as late as possible and wait for south in the compass to hit the mountain in the background then make sure you jump left you should fall down the valley
Anyone on newer consoles got to remember resolution and tvs matter, so legitimately feel it out and jump a smidgen early. Thats how I got it finally. Still works. Series x
Still works 22-5-2024, perhaps try counting up to 5 exactly from the moment you jump and at the 5 second mark you double jump to the left into the gap of the mountain, worked for me
March 15th 2024 STILL WORKS. Make sure you stop moving immediately after leaving the ground from the airstream and only turn right as you hit the double jump

Took me over 60 tries could be more , lost the count. Becareful the red red wolf ,myou must run on foot to hit the teleporter,, casting the horse might be too late. ( the red wolf got me the first time i made it down ) and i suggest you learn how to get to the grace as you might run into a world boss… also learn where the teleporter is.. second time i made , i couldn't find the teleporter because i ran passed the teleporter and felt .. anyway, i almost gave up, but i made it.. march 2024 on ps5
The compass at the top of the mountain was the most important part for me getting it. Took me like 6 tries before I figured out that the compass was where I was going wrong. Definitely works Jan 8th 2024
Ok this is how I did it after 400 tries and compiling the comments 3/22/24: compass needs to be facing the middle line between South and West. Run and do first jump AND LET GO OF ALL BUTTONS and only use right thumb stick to pan down. As per someones clarification, do your second double jump to the UPPER LEFT, not sharp left, when the COMPASS hits the top portion of the mountain (see video for where his compass hits at the time he jumps). FINALLY if this works and you fall all the way down LET GO OF YOUR CONTROLLER because the second you move you’ll die. When you land, quit out and come back in and you’ll be there. Took me 2 hours I’m here for the people now lol

Okay, so I had trouble aiming the camera down fast enough to use the compass as a tell. After watching the vid a few times and counting, and trying in game, this is what worked for me: Forget about the camera and the compass. From the moment you lift off the ground, start counting. One one thousand, two one thousand, three one thousand, four one thou. Right after, "thou," jump like he does in the vid. So to edit this: I got thrown off Torrent going down the rocks on the side, so I went to fight Commander Niall. I went back to do the skip route again, and depending on how fast you're counting, you may want to up that fourth "thousand." So like, "four one thous" and then jump, or if you're counting really fast just go for the full "four one thousand." The goal is that if you're jumping just right then you will jump just before you hit the kill barrier. So, after counting to four, you may need to adjust what comes after. There were a few times that I did that second jump just a frame too soon, and died just above the kill barrier. All that being said, the skip is something you can do, and if you're just wanting to see ways that you can abuse the game, it can be fun. If you're trying to avoid Commander Niall then this is also a thing you can do. But Niall isn't as scary as he seems. The first couple times you fight him, it seems like a pretty insane fight, but there's some tricks you can do. The firs is to use bewitching branches to turn his minions against him. You have to do this from a distance though. So don't get too close, otherwise they're just going to smack you out of casting it. Also if you're not fast with these then Niall and the the other knight will just kill it quickly. If not using bewitching branches run to where the guards are standing and bust them down fast. You could also try going straight for Niall, and if you can burst his health down fast enough, then his guards despawn. Another thing that you can do, is just keep your distance from him. DO NOT try to trade with him. Instead stay back, and wait for two attacks. The first being when he leaps, and tries to stab you with his lightning and prosthesis. Just when he's at his highest, roll forward. Then immediately after get one or two hits in on him, and run back. The other attack, is when he surrounds himself with frost, and then lunges after you. Roll to the side This one, is a bit trickier, because he has a couple immediate follow ups, but you can get one or two hits in here. I would recommend a faster weapon like a short sword, and axe, a thrusting attack (he doesn't like pierce), a club, or a spear. Do not use fire element on him, he's resistant. He also seems easily stance broken so if you bonk him hard, or fast enough, then you can take advantage of that. You could kill him with in just a few tries, so good luck! You're doing well friends.

I can also confirm it still works. I just tried it today. If you keep trying this, make sure you don't over turn on the big jump. Turning too far left was making me hit the wall. It seems like getting too close to the wall while falling instantly kills you. Double jump forward/left
The most important thing that this and other videos did not quite touch on was that there is a need to jump diagonal-upper-left. I was unable to get this replicated until i stopped going straight left.
As of 20/06/2024 after the dlc update, I can confirm this still works! Took me 6 attempts but it really worked. When I fell, it was like death animation when you jumped off, but you just keep falling without dying, with the camera stuck looking down. Afterwards, it was just stuck so just reload the game. Once you get down the mountain, be VERT wary of the red wolf, the bastard really scared the shit out of me. I ran until I found the Inner Consecrated Snowfield grace by the river.
Confirmed Still Works 03/19/24. Also, make sure to have your compass match exactly as in the video when attempting the jump with the wind spring, otherwise you will continue to die over and over again. (At least that is what happened to me). Took me a total of 6 attempts, with 1 clean attempt when I finally realized the first 5 failed attempts were due to my compass being misaligned.
Still works as of 4/11. Not sure if it actually makes a difference or not, but I have by far the most success when I hit the air jump at the last possible second before the bush and then doing the rest of the jump.
@@crazyswayn it would be just like from software 2 put a expansion behind a 3 hour jumping session. Can you also jump from other locations? The area 100 yards before the air stream seems 2 have alot of jumpers.
Hey I did it today 22 Mar 2024. Dont give up. I ended up jumping a bit sooner than waiting around 6 seconds before jumping. I also needed to get a pretty long distance out from the initial jump. I just did it with the funny camera landing on the first try. Had to restart but then the red fox owned me. Now i can't get it to work again!!!! I'm pissed.
Still works like a charm on 1.10. Got it on my 2nd try. If your camera bugs out after landing down the mountain, then just quit to menu and reload. It'll fix.

You will memorize them😘 1) Make sure the compass on top line up before you jump, 2) After you jump, start counting until you die, you will need to jump right before you die next time, and you have to jump to the FORWARD LEFT, not left, but FORWARD LEFT. 3) Once you made the second jump, LET GO OF YOUR CONTROLLER. For the love of God do not touch anything. 4) The camera wouldn't follow you, so wait a little then quit game and reload. 5) SAVE YOUR FILE!!!!! This still works as of 2/7/24! If you are struggling on the air vent when you jump count 4-5 seconds then jump to the left, it should work!

hardest part for me was compensating for the camera and jumping the right way. had to move the left j-stick slightly northwest and then boom - got it.
