My first go on changing my brakes I had to call a mechanic but I followed every steps you’ve shown and I’m actually impressed with myself because it actually worked, no mechanic needed

Great video. Very informative. Just one question. Is there a specific size for the rewind tool? I have got to do my brakes soon so will be needing to buy the tool.

Very informative video. Because my brake pads are weared and my brake cylinder gets stuck in winter i have to lube inside of brake cylinder and then bleech it YACKS. I am bit scared that my rear brakes become too strong compared to front brakes and that i have to also lube my front brake cylinders.

Do you have to bleed the break system when just changing the pads same exact car?

Nice Ross am a mchanic but been retired now for a while but been doing the brakes on a 2006 Astra SXI 1.6 and beleave me this vehicle dose a lot of mileage and she dose not understand about regular maintenace rear pads were none existant but I forgot your needed a rewind tool on the piston so got one only problem was don't know why but the rear offside wheel refused to come off after we removed all the wheel nuts had to beat the shit out of it with the mallet tryed not to damage the alloy but had to beat it off with a lump hammer in the end never had a uni puller available at the time but you know a women they want everything doing yesterday anyhow it was that bad one of the pads had disintigrated completely caliper against disc so you can imagine the state of the disc anyway told her you need new discs and pads she said just fit the pads I'll get new discs later I arned her pads will not give you brake force on the discs they need replacing before you do any more long distance runs. So anyways next week she told me I have the discs will you fit them I Said yes so long as you have got another set of pads to fit with them. Anyway job done but trying to explain machanics to a woman DON'T TRY! :-D

A wheel laying under the car is no substitute for axle stands. And no torque wrench in sight. Otherwise, the vid was useful, thank you
