Elizabeth you can stand by Finn side.... you just choosing not to and using your boys for an excuse not to help Finn through this. He stood by you all last year, when you were going through your DID situation....he never used his daughter for an excuse not to help you and stand by your side.
Two totally separate situations. Liz couldn't control what she was going through. Finn keep making the conscious decision to keep drinking amd to keep spiraling out of control while lashing out at everyone. It does no good to enable someone's choice to keep drinking over getting the help they need. Liz went through all of this with Lucky and learned her lesson. She kept making excuses for Lucky and kept enabling him, which was to the detriment of her and her kids. This time she's putting the kid's well being first, as she should. You can't help someone or stay by someone who doesn't want the help. Staying in that situation only enables the person to keep behaving the way they are. Liz is 100% right for leaving Finn and trying to get him help in other ways from a distance.
