These are some solid tips Adrian💪. And many of them can be applied to more than just freelance translating. Digital Marketing being Number 1 fills my heart with warmth❤

@@marco4marketing I was thinking you'll like that one when I was recording😄😄 thanks for the feedback, and yes, it's definitely applicable to more than just translation.

Acquiring a specialization/having a strong specialization seems like a very solid advice. Problem is, for someone like me without any official language related education, I'm not sure i qualify for anything other than general translation segment, especially for the language pair i work with.
I guess the imposter syndrome doesn't help either.
But nevertheless, I'm starting to get used to subtitling thanks to your recommendation and a few helpful UA-cam video guides.

Check back next Monday, someone asked exactly that in the Q&A and I gave quite an elaborate answer🤗

Hi Adrian! I wonder if I don't have a university degree nor certification as a translator, shall I leave my high school education out of my Translation resume? (I hope this question reaches you) 🙏🏼

Hi Daniela, high school is not really relevant for the job market, so I would not include that. Rather look into doing an online certificate in your specific field so you can add some more credibility to the CV

Thank you for another amazingly helpful video! Quick question: how do you know that for instance the football translation sector is so saturated? I usually don't find anything when I google this kind of stuff. Is it from your experience when applying for jobs in this field, or is it something you extrapolate from the amount of football translators on LinkedIn, or something else entirely?

Good question, Konstantinos! I indeed don't have concrete proof for my claim. It is based on experiences I've made. I consistently see very bad copy and translation in winter sports and motor sports context, which shows me that there is definitely a need! I personally know many sports translators and almost all of them have football as their main sport. There is still a lot of content, I also work in the field, simply because it's the largest sport in the world, but if I had to focus on one sole sports, I would go for a more unique sport and be one of the only ones in this field.

Hey Adrian! Thanks a lot for this video, it's very insightful! It's so important to think about the future and adopt to new trends, etc.
I have a question to you or whoever reads this comment. Could you recommend some free resources on business skills as well as branding, particularly for language specialists? I would appreciate it a lot! :)
    Thanks a lot :)
