  • Elon Musk Just Revealed "The Super Heavy" NEW DESIGN Upgrades
It seems Musk is on his way to making history fast. His new design upgrades for The Super Heavy are no joke and have turned a lot of heads. What has the tech millionaire come up with now? You can find out all about it in today's video. So, keep watching.
Space X has just finished stacking Booster 7 - the first super-heavy booster prototype. The new space vehicle is going to house the 33 new raptor version 2 engine, and that's the beginning of the B7's many differences from the other prototypes.
Super Heavy's main task is to launch the upper stage part of the Starship. Naturally, the Super Heavy holds some similarities to the Starship, but overall it is in its own league. Starting with the size, the Super Heavy is as tall as the entire two-stage Falcon 9 or Falcon Heavy. It measures 69 meters from tip to tail.
It's important to note that the booster is only one part of the Starship. We can only guess what dimensions the complete Starship is going to have. What's more: the booster is expected to store 6 to 7 times more propellant compared to Falcon 9 but 2 to 3 times more compared to Falcon Heavy. It isn't hard to guess which one is the better and improved version.
Moving on to the engine's capabilities, it seems like Musk improved on that front as well and made Super Heavy the clear winner. He replaced the 29 raptor version 1 engines on Super Heavy B4 with 33 raptor version 2ngine on the B7, as mentioned before.
Not only does the new engine boost the rocket's thrust from 185 tons to a staggering 230 tons, but it also makes the construction and installation process that much easier compared to its predecessors.
That's a 40 per cent increase in thrust, by the way. Unfortunately, we have not seen the B7 in action as the B7 is still yet to attempt a single static fire. But honestly, that isn't shocking since Spacex hasn't even put B4 through a single full wet dress rehearsal.
This has got many thinking that the Super Heavy might just be decommissioned before it even has the time to launch. However, that seems like too harsh of an opinion. SpaceX could decide to perform the test next week for all we know.
Other than that, b7 boasts of a sleeker raceway and external conduits that have been designed to protect smaller plumbing and wiring. There's even a different layout of the pressure vessels and hydraulic power units.
