- Artillery tanks have become fairly popular and common in War Thunder ground matches, but that wasn't always the case. The Japanese Type 75 SPH was one of the first howitzers added to the game, and it remains one of the best. It is fairly mobile and has a fast reload rate, making it excellent as a tank destroyer.

In Europe buildings were mostly built in lines attached to each other. Many old houses have it like that, its made that way to allow more space for as many houses as possible in the area.

Mexico is the same, houses are wall to wall with each other and most buildings are wall to wall to one another
Attempt 64 Challenge: For high tier support a nations MBT with its respective APC/IFV counterpart (ie Abrams/Bradley, T90/BMP2M, etc.) Challenge is keeping the other player alive and supporting it without stealing kills (breaking barrels, tracking, repairing, etc) it being a random should help make it interesting.
The win condition should be that they survive the game.

@@Ww1whiz1914 Well he typically does multiple games for videos and then edits it down to 10-15mins of gameplay. So he can choose the ones that best illustrate the challenge. Plenty of them will probably die in 2 minutes
Gaijin removed all the great weather effects like rain and snow and replaced it with 50 shades of no contrast and mush.
I would love to have real weather conditions like light and heavy rain, snowfall and blizzard, different densities of fog, heavy wind with leaves. You know actual conditions that change up the gameplay and tactics a little.

I love SPGs, not only are they great TDs oneshotting almost any tank if you aim well, but they work surprisingly well as AA with proximity-fuzed rounds. I always carry a ton of proxy, which probably gets me killed sometimes, but also leads to a good number of games with 5 plane kills lol.
155mm SPAA battery represent
The Type 75 is kind of a confusing SPAA because its shell velocity is lower than most other SPHs in the game. Leads to a lot of trial and error learning where to aim.
Yeah I really enjoyed killing planes with my M109G cool type of tanks.

@@StarkRaven59did u play with French AuF? That shit is embodiment of word "confusing". regular shell is high velocity about 800 m/s and proximity is like 500 m/s. I have a grand total of 0 plane kill with it.

1 very important stat on SPHs that's often overlooked at is the Elevation speed, the faster the elevation speed the less bouncy the gun would be after stopping, making u be able to shoot faster. Good thing Type 75 and type 99 have one of the best elevation speed out of all sph in the game (G6 being the best by a wiiiide margin)
Is that how he could make the first shot of the video on the move comfortably? I can't imagine doing so with a 2S3M, the reticle won't stop bouncing.

At aced crew, 2S3M can only go 4.4°/s while Type 75sph and Type 99 sph can go 15°/s (while G6 Rhino have a whopping 29°/s, thats higher than all tanks in that BR even even other spaas)
Shoutout to Spookston not actually using the better Type 75 HE shell with much better velocity and marginally worse filler lol
@@reinbeers5322 nah, 9.14kg vs 6.8kg of tnt equivalent is significant, example of which is you cant kill a m48a2 when shooting at the mantlet/turret cheeks using Type 75 but you can with M107

Man I love the Type 75 SPH, its reload is nice, it has a 50. Cal and its gun elevation speeds are so fast it’s almost like having a stabiliser.

Your likely to not see this, but in the case that you do. Buildings touching is a fairly common occurance across the world, even ones built in completely different Eras or by different people.
The stigma that they can't touch is kind of a dual development of not only modern ideas of architecture and planning; but also what is considered the classic 'American Moderism' style of construction.
To the point, it is very common, it's just that common perceptions and modern designing of buildings is leaning away from it, meaning that people are less likely to see the style and it's benefits.

The Rochev is the Israeli M109A1 at 6.3, not the recent battle pass vehicle
Day 26 of telling spookston to play the IT1. its a ATGM launcher on the t62 chassis, it has decent-ish mobility, the turret is squished. You can hide behind cover and shoot ATGM over the cover like a gremlin and you overpressure tanks (tho it can be rare, but it does happen without you realizing) and its MG is really werid. Also it has a cool reload animation.
To kinda answer Spooks questions, the distance between buildings has never been standardized entirely at a national/international level so its usually down to local city or state building codes. Material usage, ground stability weather and the such all play a factor in this. The general rule of thumb though should be the bigger the building, the greater the distance between you and your neighbors in terms of feet. However some areas like in New York City are built so aggressively tight because of spacing issues and poor design decisions in the past and a rule of thumb builders call "to the line" which is to build to the line of the allotted property lot even if that means building underneath and into other preexisting structures. The other, shorter, ruder answer is as someone who used to work in construction in both steel and regular jobs in my state is "architects like to draw pretty pictures with no basis in reality."
Let me tell ya, there's been more then one occasion where I've had to tell a designer their picture is only good for causing a bin fire because they wanted to effectively put the toilet in the living room.
Since you love British tanks with solid shot, slow turret traverse and no reverse gear you should play the avenger.
Having that IL2 flying right at you, and not 50cal'ing the hell out of them hurt my soul.
I have this tank right now. It is so much fun playing it. I use the Proxy Fuse shells, only for Anti-Air. I mean, I use it to take out the Air Targets.

Regarding the weather effects, I had an air RB match that bugged out and put us in a functionally nighttime map and it was just goofy with everyone trying to skim at treetop
the type99 is literally this same vehicle but with a round that is somehow better than the m107 ammo, 9.14kg of tnt for the m107 and 14.8kg for the l15a2 with roughly the same projectile, it's so fun
At this point I'm convinced Spookston could do well, as an infantry soldier on a bicycle armed with a medieval jousting lance!
Day 131 You should play a tank with hydropneumatic suspension (recommend the MBT-70) But the catch is you have to drop the suspension as low as it can go for the whole match.
dude iv been playing this tank for literal years and it's never been bad, when ever i want to unwind and have fun after boring or stressful grind sessions i always goa nd play japan 6.3 with this thing as the main vehicle played in the line up, 10/10 if you want to start the japanese tech tree just bee line for this and enjoy it

Its one of my biggest regret tbh, they added shit tons of artillery , at the time i was a main japanese player i feeled so unique and blessed to have this.
When i see all other nation get one i was like "Meh......."
Also i would like to point out, at a point in the war thunder timeline the proxy shell was working fine against tank and allowed to blast anything that was behind cover.
For some reason they broke the proxy fuse shell again and made it totaly useless against tank even against open top vehicle;
Type 75 was one of my favorite vehicle but it has slowly taking dust into my garage and ill rarely bring it now even in my 6.7 japan line up

I think you should check out the M247. I think Gaijin didn't change the stat card on it because the HE and APHE have the same explosive mass, 262g. Overpressuring with 40mm is wild
playing Ground Arcade with my German M109G, I now understand why people love playing artillery vehicles. Saying "no, perish" to Panthers and Tigers will never not be immensely fun.
14:03 buildings *should* not be build so close together under whatever circumstances. Helps prevent fire spreading, prevents water seepage damage, etc. But sadly this is not adhered everywhere, some people literally love to just latch on to their neighbouring structure - sometimes even using their neighbour's wall as their own - and it's just dumb to look at lmao.

Okay to be fair that happens to me too, likely the fella was used to autocannons with different ammo velocity - I for one fuck up a lot with higher-end mid tier SPAA since the speed of jets and the velocity of my ammo fucks up my instincts on how much I have to lead which I trained on shit that planes and shells that went slower

the whole buildings always being grouped/touching on wt maps is probably about trying to balance the maps with clear paths and funneling movement.

Attempt number i'm guessing 3 cuz i missed a few videos but anyway, to get spooks to just play one of these: CV90120, Lvkv 9040C, Pbv 302 Bill, Swedish T 80 U, Any leclerc, M36 Slugger/Jackson and the WMA 301, and the MBT-70. And for something for low tier, the D2 or the french crusader specifically because baguettes are better than crumpets.... also play Ground Arcade or Ground Sim for a video, it would make people like me who only play either arcade or sim very happy, specially if said video features swedish vehicles. Or something with eye tracker cuz yes.
