      Rock on Adam. Thanks for being a part of what I do. I have been trying to build a guitar community and it seems like it's finally working. I literally am doing this 50+ hours a week in the hopes of turning this into my forever full time thing. I would love to be able to share my passions for music and guitars and not have to think about anything else. Please keep spreading the word and keep commenting. Lastly, let me know what type of videos you would like to see. I like to pick comments and do videos based on them now that more than my mom and 4 friends watch my videos.

      @@TheNeuroticGuitarist you are awesome! I have showed your videos to my wife too, she agrees you are great. I am a worship leader and mostly play hymns and contemporary church stuff, but I love to learn rock riffs and so forth. There is an older fellow in my church that I go back and forth with, he gives me riffs to learn and play for him, and I challenge him with "name that song" riffs. I played House of the Rising Sun for him the other day and he laughed and said that was the first time that had been played in a church. Fun times. I really enjoy how much work and care you put into your videos. I briefly tried my hand years ago at tube vids and just couldn't hack it. Like you say lots of hours for sometimes negligible rewards. Loved everything about this video! Another great video Benny! Great playing, comparisons and history lessons. Love your massive collection of PRS guitars. Glad I am subscribed to your channel and enjoy watching your videos.
    As for the complaints, I have to say I love your passion and energy. I get everyone has their own opinions and vibe, but your energy does convey your love for guitar and tone. There is nothing wrong with that. As a guitar nerd/geek myself, I totally get the passion. I spend too much time in my local guitar stores and just shoot the shit with the sales people and just talk for hours about new gear, specifications, pickups, pedals, amps, etc.
    As for PRS' sounding sterile, I don't get the complaint. I like the consistency from them. I know if I am getting a PRS, it's going to be a good one. Their tones are very relatable for me (as someone who is not into heavy rock, metal, etc). I find there is something for everyone with PRS. As a side note, my local PRS dealer has not been able to keep the SE SAS's in stock. They're gone within a few days. I'm glad Paul is constantly innovating and finding ways to bring more core models into the SE lineup.

    • @TheNeuroticGuitarist
      @TheNeuroticGuitarist  Рік тому +3

      The thing with prs is that they are so consistent that there isn't as much of "that's the magic one" like you hear with les Paul's, so if someone doesn't dig one they don't dig all. There's something cool about finding the special one, I think that's the different in ideology between prs and gibson to some extent. Thanks for being a part of what I do Dan, I very much appreciate you brother 🙏

    I have one of the new SAS SE's and I have a CE-24 semi hollow like you. The SAS is a solid heavy guitar. I also have a Silver Sky SE and a Zack Myers SE, so I am a bit of a PRS fanboy.. They are all beautiful guitars and that's important to me - I consider them works of art. As for the sounds, I like them all for different reasons. And tweaking the amp can make them sound very similar or very different. I think I like the neck on the CE-24 the best, followed by the Silver Sky. But it all comes down to personal preference. If a guitar makes you want to play more, then its a keeper.

    I love your videos because you are detailed and precise and I like the comedy. I might also be neurotic about guitars. Heh.
    Anyway, I could tell the difference between the tones, but the less expensive guitars are more my speed. If I had reason to need a more expensive guitar, the 10K one would win this comparison hands down. It just has more "body" to it, it's more articulate, has a more attractive voice, if that makes any sense.
    I'm still undecided about the SE Swamp Ash Special even though I love, love, love Paul Reed Smith guitars. They do vary from guitar to guitar, and I think I have to play a couple to see what I think of each of them.
    And I'm still wondering what the maple neck feels like because the maple neck and the rosewood neck on the Silver Sky is weirdly like night and day. I still haven't figured that out.
    Thank you for your review of the SAS. Love it.

      And also, which is flatter and closer to the flatness/depth of an Ibanez Wizard neck? I can't seem to find any explanation on the PRS site on the differences. Thought you'd know since you own both types of the neck. Caliper? BTW, I own both those. And I'm using the semi hollow more. It's more comfortable and easier. The Swamp Ash is like a brick. Not much difference to average Joe. But with rotator cuff injury it's literally a pain.

    What yelling? lol and dots are boring, BIRDS ARE AWESOME!!! In my opinion, even though I’m a Les Paul guy, I think PRS makes the best guitars. They took the designs of both Fenders & Gibsons, kinda combined them, & got rid of the design flaws of the originals in the process. For the clean tones I think that overall they sounded different more than one sounded better, though for a few positions one guitar or other sounded better, with overdrive though I liked the CE the best, it sounded the most balanced to my ear, the C24 was a close second, but sounded a bit fizzy for my tastes.

    • @TheNeuroticGuitarist

    The pickups alone on these SE models have made me pass on the PRS. Good guitars but in my opinion, at the US made end only. It would be better if they just included Duncans or Fishmans instead, and left their higher end models with the in house pick-ups.

      I think this is true for a lot of companies. I played a few epiphones and was very underwhelmed but then got a 59 ri sent to me for review with US burstbucker pickups and it just destroys. I put dimarzio deactivators with a preamp in the SAS and it rules. So really, you spend the money on the SAS and throw your favorite pups in and will certainly not be bummed out. It plays incredible

In the demo there's not a lot of difference in tones for my old ears, but than probably comes down to YTs audio compression and my age. Your last Metallica demo sounded great on all the guitars. Generally I still prefer the more articulate CE's Core 85/15 pickups on clean over the "S" versions but I use light gain and the SE SAS HBs do really well with light gain in my little Quilter Superblock UK. The awesome AS-01 with the HBs sounds great on clean. Also, this SE SAS neck is really fast for me, love this particular satin finish.
