I guess I've been lucky with my 2003 Trailblazer EXT. After 20 years, for the first time, have 2 leaks one on the steering pressure line by the harmonic balancer and one on the Rack transfer tube. Thanks for the video. seems easy to replace just time consuming.
Wow, at first I thought I was watching one of those great 1A Auto vids. came here for the content and I thank you for a no nonsense editing and instructions without AC DC burning my ears.

thank you very much for this video as of tomorrow i shall be doing this on my Base model LS that had to of been in some sort of accident in its life and had a profuse leak in the power steering rack
This video is a really good I like how all this is set up I'm also working on a trailblazer like this to remove a rack and pinion I just like watching this type how to videos
Great work. Just want to give you the correct terminology and you'll sound like a pro. What you're calling an end link is an outer tie rod. It threads onto the inner tie rod. "End link" is a shortened version of stabilizer bar end link. Which I'm sure you've seen. It connects the stabilizer or "sway" bar to the control arm.
Great Video... have to swap one from the '07 parts truck to the '02. Hoping all is the same.....I know the '02 uses differant size tie rod threads, but swapping those also.
@@Hegelmaus81 04 here also with 240K on it. I'm gonna get a t-shirt to display to our local mechanic. I'm hoping it's the driver's cv axle seal and not the rack - gonna watch this vid now after I order a t-shirt. He said Thursday - so hopefully I'll get the shirt before then. I used the promo code DAN10 so it was $23 for standard shipping. I got bright orange so the local gun people can't shoot me by mistake.
The chevy failblazer had me dying lol. It is soo true though, we have had our 07 for 6 years and it has given us more issues than any of my other vehicles. We just had the rack replaced 2 years ago and it is leaking again already.
So I got the new rack in my truck but my steering wheel is free spinning. I'm 100% positive that I put everything back together properly. So what could the cause be and the best way to fix it. Only thing I can think of is I pulled the bar coming from the steering wheel to the rack down to get it to go into the rack easily. Is it possible that I pulled it out of a connection to the steering wheel 🤔?
When I put a new pressure line in it was a different design. They put a rubber seal on the line I had to pop one of those line seals out to get the line in. It doesn't leak there either. But my rack is leaking bad out the ends now.lol
Question: After having a Dorman rack installed (and re-installed) the steering is stiffer than the OEM rack as I remember it. Any reason for this that you can think of? And thanks for posting your vids. It's a lot of work and it's much appreciated. Best, Roger
How did you get the steering column shaft all the way in? After using the screwdriver, you can only get in up to the screwdriver. How did you get it the rest of the way into the rack shaft?
Okay guys- when he shows where the lines connect to the rack where those black seals are-- if you look at the left one (the side where he said his fell out) there is this round silver piece inside of there - it came out on mine when I removed the seal to replace it- what is that thing? Can I just put it back in place? Is it replaceable is it some kind of pressure valve?
What length spark plug socket did you use? Mine was too short. I could only get a 3" deep socket on the nut but I couldn't stop the socket from spinning when I tried using vice grips (as done in another video) to hold the socket in place. Thanks.
Can you please help me out, I took out the rack but forgot to stop the steering wheel from moving and now I don’t know where the wheel is supposed to go. How many turns from full clock spring lock to the left

Hey man, great video, I Just have a question does the rack and pinion come with bushings?
I changed my pump , but don’t see a leak so I don’t think it’s my lines , and my steering still stiff do you think it’s my rack and pinion??
I'm trying to replace the hydraulic transfer tubing assembly onto mine and it doesn't have an 8mm bolt and its more star shaped and every socket and wrench I have doesn't work and I hate to strip the bolt. Any clue what I could try?
Is that a good place for the front jack? I'd guess those square sections at the ends of that cross-member would be more solid.
For the bolt that holds the lines into the steering box, can you take those out when the racks on the ground? Or is there not enough play in them?
charles g there isn’t enough play.
