I've been watching your videos lately, and I really appreciate how you test and recommend excellent budget-friendly Android units. While I don't have a large budget, I was considering the ESSGOO AR9001. However, I'm not entirely convinced since it doesn't seem to be a great unit. Do you have any other low-cost options that you would recommend? Thank you, and greetings from Mexico

Amazing, great video for somebody (like me) who is still unsure which unit to go for. One note on the spreadsheet you shared: could you add a column with the currency code (EUR, USD, AUD, GBP, etc) of each price? It would be interesting to compare the score/$ ratio and you can only do it if you compare the units all with the same currency base. I volunteer to amend the spreadsheet for you if you DM me

Thank you very much for your video, it helps many people to buy a decent head unit. I'm also in doubt about a head unit and I don't really know if it's fast enough since it's a 12.3 inch screen, a larger screen obviously needs a bit more computing power. It is a 12.3 inch screen with an 8 core AC8259L chip with 6GB ram and 128 memory. Is this sufficient for such a screen?
    What is your opinion?

The results in your spreadsheet are interesting to me. The QCM6125 is a significantly newer SoC, and scores 50% to 75% better in head-to-head benchmarks than the UIS7862a. In addition, the UIS7862a can only use 6gb of RAM, whereas the QCM6125, which is a Snapdragon 665, can use up to 8gb. Also, the latter runs Android 12, where as the 7862 runs Android 10. What gives?

Nothing will be plug and play in that car. And flip out screen models won't work in the location of the factory CD player because the dashboard is slanted, so the screen will be tilted downwards.

Hey! I bought a BMW 1 series 2010 on Saturday and im having trouble with the speaker quality.
The car came with an aftermarket head unit linked below. Ive gone through all the audio settings on the screen, watched endless UA-cam videos but cant seem to find anything which helps the audio.
Can anyone help me with this? Took it to Halfords today and the audio technician wasn’t sure if it was the speakers themselves or the screen thats been fitted. The speakers do go loudish, but compared to my old car (2011 Ford Fiesta) the audio from my BMW is much worse. I just cant seem to believe a Fiesta has better audio than a BMW.
All the speakers work its just the quality doesn’t sound the best- I’m unsure whether it’s the new fitted screen (which was installed before I had the car) or the speakers themselves.
Tried everything on the screen as I said but all the settings just seem to be downloaded apps from the play store which are like equalisers which just worsen the quality.
There’s no rumble to the speakers, they don’t go anywhere near as loud as my old car. I’m all about music and want it to sound right so any help is welcome please.
I even took the car to a car audio specialist yesterday and he said that the speakers sounded pretty quiet. He also said the 1 series from 2010 have pretty bad speakers anyway.
My question to you would be do i upgrade the speakers or the head unit? I know its probably worth upgrading both but i just wondered what your opinion would be and what speakers/ head unit to go for!

That's a very basic no-name head unit which doesn't appear to have DSP (digital sound/signal processing). This could be the reason why you're unable to tune the head unit to sound good.
