I love it when you build something brilliant but TOTALLY unexpected from anyone ever.
I would say that this is comparable in design to the Herzog MOW train, the only differences I see are in length and function. Looks great either way.

This train is real. I am not kidding. There is some of these in other countries. They are moistly used for putting out fires in train tunnels. I know as a fact the U.S.A. has some tanker cars with hoses on them to put out wildfires.
Google up "Fire Train." Lots of interesting stuff to learn, including the fact that the primary and most consistent element of real-life rail-based fire fighting apparatus is a giant *water* tank :)

Next time you show off a train, can you have it run around a track. I know that all trains the use the power functions system work the same but it just looks really cool.

Watching this and watching the tank you built made me have a suggestion, what if you built a planet defense train? Something like the old war trains from WWII with guns mounted on the train platforms.
I am not sure how practical a fire train is, but the looks on this thing are great.

Why Is This Not A Set!?!? In my city of Bricksburg, there are rails, everywhere. and a passenger train runs along it with the occasional cargo train leading to Fluffykinz Harbour, and if anything along Taco Street catches in fire, it could keep them from not burning to death, nad also not destroying other stuff. but given my horrid RC driving, it would probobly just put out the fires by crashing into the buildings, and goung through the streets until it reached the beach, sunk, and fell off the table :P

Probably not, it would be really hard to stop the train in the right spot. It would be a lot easier to fly or drive a car to the fire, if not going by foot.

Why are both cabs facing the same direction? Seems pretty typical of American rail operations, I never understood that practice.

I never said locomotives can't work together. Multiple locomotives can obviously be controlled from one cab.
Locomotives almost universally have traction motors driving all wheels, it makes no difference for traction which way the cab is facing. And with control cars with no driving wheels it doesn't make any difference either. But a cab facing into another unit is a useless cab. If you're going to carry the dead space that is an extra cab, why wouldn't you want to couple it in such a way that you can actually drive the train from it?

Sorry, you're going to have to explain why you think the position of the cab has any influence on braking or traction. Most American freight locomotives, take the EMD SD70 series for instance, has a Co'Co' wheel arrangement, meaning all six axles are powered. It operates just as well going in either direction.

I never said the locomotive (I assume by engine you mean locomotive) becomes uselss, I said the cab becomes useless. Learn to read.
