    Took it with the 50mm on holiday, its the fav, best for video and wide enough without getting distorted, love it

    Would also recommend the lens hood, protects the front element, and cheap enough from third party

    Love this focal length. Image looks great out of this lens

    Physically, it looks very much like the RF 16mm f/2.8 STM which I also consider to be a pancake lens.
    Good tip about the field-of-view with the iPhone.
    This could be a useful lens on a gimbal. Nice and light and, personally, I find that I often end up around 28mm when using zoom lenses on a gimbal.

      I can see why you’d think that, it is small as well. They are very similar
      Thanks!
      Yes it would be great on a gimbal! You would probably be able to hold it/shoot much longer without fatigue 💪🏻

    Awesome video! I really appreciate the photo views for inspiration. I moved from 6d mark ii to the R6 mark ii and just picked up this lens. Can’t wait to venture out and be creative. You get better light out on the west coast. Wisconsin is a bit dimmer but still I will find ways to use it well! Thanks!

      Thanks!! Ah nice! welcome to the mirrorless world!! Yes I have no complaints on the amount of sunshine we get:) Thanks for watching and thanks for saying hi! I hope you love the 28 as much as I do... it still hasn't left my EOSR

      @@JesseDeyoung landscapes and street when I can do both. Would love to pursue it full time but hopefully one day. Also wish could go back to Astro.

    Hey, thanks. I have one question, do you think it will be a problem if I use RF28 f2.8 to Canon RP that is no in-body stabilization?

    • @JesseDeyoung
      @JesseDeyoung  Місяць тому

      Ive been using it with the EOSR which also does not have IBIS and haven't had any issues. I do turn on the digital stabilizer when shooting video which I think helps to smooth out any possible jitters. If you're planning on using a gimbal for video you won't need the digital IS.

    I’m hoping this solves my problem of trying to travel light and still take some great shots.

    • @JesseDeyoung
      @JesseDeyoung  4 місяці тому

      It definitely will! I don’t know what camera you have but the fact that a full frame body can now be a travel camera is amazing! I’m still loving mine

      @@JesseDeyoung I’ve got the EOS RP (was the only one in my budget). Really looking forward to seeing what I can do with it on my travels.

      Perfect!! I think I said this in the video but try using the 1.6crop as a zoom if you feel like you can’t get close enough to what you’re trying to shoot. I use this more than I thought I would!

    What is better the 50mm f1.8 or 28mm f.2.8?

    • @Stan_the_Belgian
      @Stan_the_Belgian День тому

      50mm better bokeh and portraits, 28mm great for environmental portraits

  • @mpir78

    This should be a 99 € lens like EF 50 mm 1,8 was.

      I still have that lens! This one doesn’t feel as cheaply made as that:)

  • @Getoffmycloud53
    @Getoffmycloud53 5 місяців тому

    Ok, but overpriced, exposed barrel and (relatively) loud AF.
    Lens hood, is prime example of Canon rip off on a “budget” lens.
    How will the plastic lens elements develop over time, will it discolor etc

      Thanks for your POV. Maybe I’ll do another review after a year or 2 of using it. So far it hasn’t left my EOSR ☺️

      @@JesseDeyoung that’s the only fact that matters, that you enjoy using something!
      To put my comments in perspective, the 28mm is the only R lens I own. 🤫

      Amen to that! Haha thanks for the extra info you made me literally laugh out loud! 🤣 so many people comment on things they don’t own or haven’t tried. I guess we’re in it together to see how it holds up!
