Finally an extended version Welcome Back March are: 1) Bond of Friendship by Mackenzie-Rogan 2) The Red Men's March by R.B. Hall 3) Colonel Bogey by Kenneth J Alford 4) Machine Gun Guards by by E.Marechal 5) Vimy Ridge by T.Bidgood 6) The Guardsman by Arnold Steck 7) Hielan' Laddie (Scots Guards Quick March)
The " Bond of Friendship" is one of the prettiest marches ever. The thing that impresses me is no matter if there is one person hearing them or 10,001 they give the most professional performance. Truly professional .
That's because they don't usually perform for a crowd during changing the guard.. The music is actually for the guard/guardsmen you see following them.
What an enviable honor and privilege to wear the red tunic and bearskin of a Guards bandsman, accompanying the Guards and entertaining the citizens, preserving the grand tradition and legacy of one of the finest military ensembles on the planet!
My uncle terry was a bandsman in the Coldstream Guards in the late 60s early 70s,Oman and N.I. we never really connected until I got out of the 10th Mountain Division, then the story's came out ! He passed away last year of cancer . Miss you Bro!
Nearly 45 years ago i was in Luton for a visit to Family Lewis , he played the Flugel Horn in the Luton Band He was working in the Army then, he took me to London for looking the Chancing of the guards I still remember what he sayd to me : Do never forget : The Coldstream Guards Band are the best Military band of England and they always wil be ! When i listen to the CGB i am thinking of Mr Lewis his words He past away a few years ago , loved HIM !!
It's called "carrying" their sword, and involves them resting the blade on their shoulder for comfort. It's entirely down to the officer if they wish to do this whilst marching, and commonly, they do it when the rest of the guard change arms; and then when they change back, they hold their sword normally again.
+SimkinTribute Camera Work is Amazing the only thing I suggest is to try keeping the Camera steady but overall Keep up the Great work. Maybe one day I might visit Windsor Castle and maybe we'll do a video together and I'll share some of my knowledge that I know with you!!
Thanks, I do my best with steadying the camera, however, it is difficult when walking. I have decided to do these videos walking to give a longer look at the guard change and to provide all the music that is played. Cynocephali does a great job in Windsor with his camera stationary, but he gets less overall music. I usually stay stationary in London except for following Old Guard down The Mall. Thanks for your contributions.
They do in the Scottish army bands, but in the household division bands they use hand signals for a few things. Specifically, for indicating a wheel and a counter march.
And the cool part is, each Drum Major has their own unique style of Right and Left wheel hand movement drill. DM Gareth Chambers is one my favourites. Simple, yet nice.
Hahaha, all of these guard bands have bass trombonists who play like they're trying to rip their lips right off of their own faces. I would legit pay money to hear the entire British army's bass trombonists in one room playing through some rep.
They perform civic guard Duties while the Guards are in a ceremonial role ! How embarrassing would it be for one of the most historic fighting units to break ranks in full dress to deal with some drunk prick or some idiotic protester ? These men fight and win wars and guard the sovereign , they do not want to waste Thier time unless they have to dealing with unruly civilians 😳😁
There is a clip showing the leading police officer stopping the parade momentarily to allow the passage of an emergency vehicle. Only the Police have the authority to do that.
Camerawork is rubbish .... However, Drum Major Steven Staite always makes the occasion great as he has natural abilities to make his marching look impressive and adds a certain "something" to the parade. Well Done that Drum Major. .... SuperNutkin.

A lot of British military marches are impressive, for example "The guardsman"..
It is also a long and difficult selection to play when marching.
What an enviable honor and privilege to wear the red tunic and bearskin of a Guards bandsman, accompanying the Guards and entertaining the citizens, preserving the grand tradition and legacy of one of the finest military ensembles on the planet!
Thank you so much for uploading this video. We simply have nothing comparable in the U.S. what a fascinating sight!

May I offer your uncle a salute (British style) and heartfelt thanks for his service to Queen and country. May the Almighty grant him eternal rest.

The Coldsteam Guards regimental mottoe is of course: "Second to None"!
Trying to imaging how powerful the second march would sound as massed bands on the mall or something... chills!
@8:40: "Machine Gun Guards March". The low brass at 10:21 is glass-shattering glorious sound of victory!
Very Nice video , with the best Military Band !! Coldstream Guards Band 👍👍
The band does an excellent job. Thank you for positing and providing the name and start time of each march.
Where are the names of the marches
Terrific bass job!
Excellent sound, thanks for uploading.
The trombone section is realy Very Very good 🤙🤙
God as an American i love the Brits. Glad i have some British blood.
American by birth, Scottish by heritage.
I consider myself a displaced British citizen.
one of the best bands in the world and people are like going shopping etc.
Well done! I really enjoyed that 👏👏👏👏
very nice sound. thanks for posting.
Strong Trombones perfect
I love to hear the sounds of trombone, specially in parade march
Drum Major Steven Staite, Grenadier Guards leading The Band of the Coldstream Guards
Great camera work🇬🇧🇬🇧🇦🇺🇦🇺
Rubbish camerawork .... makes everyone feel dizzy ......
Brilliant!
I have have a question. Why does the officer lower his saber to his shoulder when they changed arms during the march?

I started to march up with those lads when I was about 6/7
@@leobruce7196 Thanks for imforming me
Please tell me the name off the 2nd march (starting on 4:34) ... I'm a bass-trombonist and I'ld love to play it with the band
According to British Marches poster: The Red Men's March by R.B. Hall
Thank you for your time to answer my question .... I realy appreciate it

SimkinTribute I understand
just love them ,,,
Awesome😍😍😍
Am I remembering correctly that the DM used to guide the Band with his mace rather than his arm? I'm going back 40-odd years.

Did he lost weigth? Steven Staite?
Coldstream guards have red plume 🇬🇧💂
Interesting frenchhorn part!
What has the world come to when you have to have Police with SMG's around the Band?????

I my time we played 6 abreast, one bass trom. on each flank....glorious sound.
Are there women in the Guards ?
TiltonRoad Birmingham only in the bands
@@neville592are you sure about that? There are women in the Household Cavalry and King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery, also in the Regimental Bands.
Scots Guards DM
Grenadier guards
It's a shame that the Guards have to be guarded by the Police.
Somehow spoils it.
riotagus the guards can certainly defend themselves. The police are there to prevent exuberant on-lookers from disrupting the ceremony.

Why don't you get off your ass, grab your camera, and show us how it should be done then jackass.
My goodness, that opening statement was unkind sir
The british police are so untidy
Spot on! No respect for the uniform!
While I miss the smart uniforms of yore, I cannot deny that form must follow function.
