I have one almost identical to this one, same color (it seems almost all the 95 models are blue) but with fewer miles. I don't drive it much here in Phoenix, AZ during the summer, but it gets the groceries during the winter. I had to have a new radiator built as the original was leaky and good luck finding a replacement - mine now has a two row copper/brass unit. I'll also either be eliminating or replacing the catalytic converter since this one is plugged up pretty badly now. It four wheels decently, but in low range, you are shifting constantly and since first is already a low gear, it makes sense to stay in high range if you can. I upped the wheel and tire size, staying with 15" wheels but increased from a 5" width to a 7" and now it wears 205/70-15 tires, from the original P185/80-15 and that works well. At 6'3", I still fit just fine, but it is s-l-o-w! Every time I drive it, the comments fly in and it's just plain fun. Have all your import paperwork in hand when you go to the dept of motor vehicles (and check your state regarding how they will allow you to register it). In AZ, I got a standard automobile title and it is registered as a regular car. As well, State Farm insured it with zero-deductible glass coverage, even. Since I bought mine over a year ago, the supply has gotten a bit better and decent examples can be had for reasonable money, but shop around, as prices vary.
While browsing youtube for reviews on this particular vehicle, something astounding happened: I was pleasantly surprised to see this unit reviewed since the thing that caught my eye was your comment on the 'build quality' of the kei Pajero. The stain & door scratches that looked like 'poured concrete' was familiar because your same unit was reviewed 6 months ago before being shipped from Japan at the channel called Redline Exports Japan.
This might be unbelievable, but you can actually drive this thing in the 1999 racing video game called Gran Turismo 2. Just don't expect to win any races with it, lol.
@@franklinsaltchuck2455 It's not if you get it inspected in Japan before importation and do preventative maintenance before it ships if anything isn't recently documented. The mistake people make is importing "project cars" or not doing an inspection and learn the hard way that importing part after part with $25-50 shipping each and potentially thousands for large parts like body panels adds up fast. Buy a good one, get it mint while it's still in Japan, THEN import your like-new car that won't need anything big for years.
where i live uae dubai they are sold cheap cause they are all right hand drive most people buy it for underage driving its not road legal but it costs from 800-1000 dollars
I got one and u love the thing, it’s a 97 but it’s incredibly well maintained and my kids fit perfectly in the back. The only downside is that it’s not a car for long trips on highways because at 60 mph/100kph you’re already revving 4K rpms or more. Now if you want to take a trip down the coastline, get on the beach or go camping near a river? Chef’s kiss
I’ve recently got one and trying for the life of me to find a video on how to use the 4WD stick - the ONLY dedicated video for that I can find is a guy from India or Pakistan speaking in his language but with a second voice speaking in a different language- basically it’s audio chaos! Why can’t I find a video on that!?
I don't think your critique of the interior was fair. Most of that looked like abuse/damage from a careless owner that wore rings or had a picking addiction and also just stuck something nasty on the dash and never cleaned it properly. I'd bet you'd feel differently if you drove a better kept example and it's not fair to judge a car outright by a 25 year old example with a hard previous life. I mean, yeah, it's not leather, but it's not any worse than what any other car was using in that price class. The in-dash compass, etc. is also really bright during the day, I think that one was broken, once again pointing to an abusive prior owner.
how do you categorize it as kei car when you are registering. You mentioned that its registration charges are less than normal cars. I am in washington state and registered one kei car and they charged me same like other cars
The subaru vivio looks like its the size of any volkwagon but its the size of a orignal mini And the nissan rasheen looks like it be the size of a range rover but its the size of a ford focus The rasheen is not a kei car
Mitsubishi underpowered PANJERO , it needs a Diesel or gasoline petrol 2.0 liters minimum/additional 2,500cc. Hybrid will have a bigger motor, old technology doesn’t get the empower out of small displacement. I’ve had 1000 3cyl- to over 8 liters. The Junior 1100cc, I WANT THE Mitsubishi Pajero EVOLUTION V6 3500cc Race winning proper vehicle. Mini isn’t safe or a regular safe automobile for outside city high speed.
Dude, what? The J is not "silent", you're trying to say it makes an "h" sound, but that's actually wrong. This is a point of contention among Pajero owners as the basis is actually Latin, not Spanish, so it is pronounced like the J in "Jiffy", not the J in "Jalapeño". Also, fun fact, google what "Pajero" with an "h" sound means in spanish and you'll understand that A) it definitely wasn't named that (on purpose) B) that's why North America called them all Monteros instead. It was funny when he said "Pajeho", though, it was like he had slammed a few beers and was like "what is this thing called? Who cares"

It's very easily believable.

@@alialketbi6049 I’m so jealous. We are paying 6-12k to import them. And we can only import ones made before 1997

3:06 Altitude meter=altimeter. You're welcome. :) Nice video, Zach!
Got a ton of these over here in Pakistan. Keep up the good work Zack 👍
Any true 4 wheel drive will have those selections for 2high, 4 high, and 4 low. Unlike all wheel drive. 4wd and AWD are very different.
Love JDM cars I’ve watched all of the videos you’ve posted recently. Keep it up
Mine's 2001 gold colored and I love it.
Got my 01 last year it's been so much fun
Off-road Kei cars go hard, have you reviewed a Suzuki one?
Love so much Mini pajero
What is mileage ? KMPL
29mpg
I like that. Like the Jimney.
But k-cars in general.
Love this! Seen a few of these for sale

Excuseme guys. Will the pajero mini 4x4 be good on bad roads carrying 4 people on board?
this video two car are involved...different dashboard 😂😍😂

Sadly Mitsu made some mistakes in the 90s. Build quality and all. Sad. But I still like it.
“A gyroscope looking thing”… You mean the compass. 🙄
When are you going to review my Fb rx7 you promised
Mitsuwubishi
The subaru vivio looks like its the size of any volkwagon but its the size of a orignal mini
And the nissan rasheen looks like it be the size of a range rover but its the size of a ford focus
The rasheen is not a kei car
its much lower priced than comparable vehicles
Buddy if you didn't have obesity you would probably fit...and it's a k car not a Lamborghini
Mitsubitchy
Uno Mille kkkkk
;
Sorry mate, HOW are you mispronouncing this?? The "J" is silent, not the bloody "R"!!! Pahero not Pajeho! Come on man....
