hey the moon is out and there's proper ambient light for the nightvision to work it's magic. Unlike that poor T-55A who had to crawl through the darkness.
@@zagstrukk holy crap, that means they have to LITERALLY rely on the IR spotlight for Illumination. I honestly thought it was there in case the surroundings were too dark, rather than it having to be a requirement to see in the dark.

To put it in ranges: All Soviet night sights without using the illuminator effective range is less than 500m, with the illuminator 1200m ish. M60A1 through the first RISE Passive 800m or so with out and about 1300m with. RISE Passive 77 and the M60A3 (not the TTS) you can identify targets out to 2000m, but more realistic is about 1600m. @@4T3hM4kr0n To a degree yes. As of right now the Thermals on the SEP V3 are only second generation. While a lot of countries have third gen thermals. The 2nd gen ones on the SEP V2 and SEP V3 are still really. Depending on the heat of the terrain you are looking at you can identify targets out past 5KM.
You gotta do the PACT Partnership mission, it seems easy, but I somehow struggled with it more than I did with Pushing Tin and Longer Road. The AI hits everything in that mission for some reason despite using M60A1s. I might just be really unlucky tho.

The moon is out on Longer Road, Soviet night sights are just garbage
