My opinion is that DMST are the most important band to come out of Canada, even moreso than Rush. DMST have the resident psychic shit going all day, and unbeknownst to them, have it in future and past, thru video streams and live shows. I am 48 years old. Back in 2005, my only music religious exp was with them.
The ability of all these musicians is astounding to me. The swap instruments and fulfill different roles in carrying the melody and do so with grace! Seeing them live changed my entire view of what a band and a live performance could be.
Great! Music full of positive energy, playfulness. Guys bursting with enthusiasm for a common cause, music: -) ... Do Make Say Think ... The time has come ... What to say? Where to start? So simple, yet so complicated;-)...
I was always amazed how solid and closely interconnected the DMST music is being so free inside. And the fact that they achieve this after not playing together for long time just addes to it. Fantastic!

Sorry but I didn't like this. So many people making something really simple. Competent musicians sure. These days one person could make something similar. Getting this band on the road must cost our ecosphere a few too many carbon emissions. See E F Schumacher..

I saw DMST open for Godspeed! Back in 2002. 20 years later I keep coming back. One of the truly unique and timeless groups of musicians. #Respect
To see those two together, must have been amazing. That was the beginning of the post-rock era.
