Maupiti is one of the smallest and less touristic of all the islands: very few people are staying at any given time, making it feel like you have the whole place for yourself!
We decided to visit Maupiti instead of Bora Bora for this very reason.

I'm looking to visit Maupiti later this year so I'm doing a little research, and this is hands-down THE BEST video I've seen of the island. If you don't mind me asking, where did you stay (there's only one place on Airbnb), and did you use a company for the excursion that you went on? Thanks so much!
Apuskeleke thanks! It’s definitely my favorite island in Polynesia! But not easy to find an accommodation indeed! I stayed at Chez Manu, a guesthouse by locals. They also organized the excursion.

Thanks! The most expensive thing is going to be the flight (depending where you are coming from). As for staying on the island it can vary a lot! There are only a couple of proper resorts and those are very expensive ($500 a night), or you can stay in small B&B on the main island for less than $100 a night.
For the 360 stuff I used a now quite old GoPro Fusion.

Definitely our highlight of the trip! I simply loved Maupiti! Indeed there are not many options for accommodation on the island, and it's not easy to organize! But that's a good thing since there are never too many people on the island and it feels like it's all for you!
We stayed at a guesthouse on the east side, near Chez Manu. Don't expect luxury, but you will find great hospitality!

Ciao Irene! Maupiti te la consiglio senza riserve! Secondo me e' l'isola piu' bella, e anche la meno turistica. Ma proprio per questo motivo e' alquanto difficile trovare una sistemazione! Io ho prenotato 1 settimana prima di andare e ho avuto fortuna a trovare qualcosa... Sono principalmente guest house, quindi non ti aspettare resort di lusso: si vive a casa coi locals.
Io sono stato in una casa vicino a Chez Manu sulla costa est. Ti consiglio di guardare su google map e provare a scrivergli una email: loro o dei loro vicini potrebbero avere una camera in affitto!

The boat transfer you mean? That was just to get from the airport to the main island and it was the owner of the b&b that picked us up!
How long time did the hike take ?
Not a long one, but quite steep! It was about 1-hour going up including various stops for photos/videos
