- First update on the 1/24 scale TOP SECRET Nissan Fairlady Z from Aoshima. Watch as I prepare the body for primer, showing all the steps taken to make this more realistic! Then I finish off with the Gold while leaving the surface ready for the all important decals!

Nice vid! Not related to this video, but do I need all three Tamiya polishing compounds (coarse, fine and finsih)? What is your experience?
Hello there, thanks for your feedback. If you're using Tamiya polishing compounds, then yes I recommend using all 3, one after the other as intended to be used. Each compound will remove the scratches left behind by the previous compound until the finest one leaves a nice shiny surface. It all depends also on the type of clear you're polishing. If you're using 1K clear, like the Tamiya TS-13 or equivalent, the Tamiya compounds are ideal. If using 2K clear, I myself found the compounds to be a little soft for that and prefer using automotive polishing compounds right away. I see people still using the Tamiya compounds on 2K clear, but I prefer automotive ones. You can see my polishing tutorial to help you understand the way I polish bodies. Is there really a part 3. Final of build ?
Hello there, yeah sure I'm still working on the 350Z and in fact 2 days ago I uploaded a Shorts showing the body airbrushed with 2k clear and polished. Next video will be the finished body, then I'll do the chassis and interior too before calling it finished. Progress was slow due to the Ferrari restoration I had to do and other commitments in life ☺️
the hood is carbon on the real car...
Thanks for your input but I'm not a fan of how a carbon hood looks on a Z33. I found that Top Secret left the hood in body colour on their Super G WideBody Z and so I'm using that as reference for my build.. treating it more as a customer car rather than an official demo.
@@KarlScaleModeling ok, it's fine :) I also painted it gold, but I only forgot to make it carbon :D I think the big "T" logo looks better on a dark surface. Great work, keep it up :)
