I do all the tutorials by a 3 pitched carnatic flute. This tutorial also I did with a 3 pitched flute. If I do with some other pitch I mention in the beginning.

Madam you have very nicely taught us this excellent song. I am practising in a 4 number flute. Can play sarali varisai, jandai varisai reasonably with ease. How long do you think i should practice this song should get it right? Further what is the method of practice? Should I sing slowly the swaras for around a week and speed up there after, once the finger proficiency is reached? Can you kindly guide me the method of practice please. Your teaching is extremely interesting. But I need guidance on how to go about practising. I do not have a physical teacher. I am a self learner.
In the absolute beginning stage, you need to practice more till the fingers get fluency and play the notes freely. Then hearing is more important. At least as important as practicing. Watching the tutorial a few times is the best practice. If you just watch the tutorial once and write down the notes and then keep on practising with the support of the notes is of minimum help. The notes have no bhave, they do not convey stress, tapping and where to drag the swaras and where to compress them. If you form the habit of first watching the tutorial a few times and then practice pausing it is the best method. For that you need to buy a 8 holed carnatic flute of pitch 3.
You can remember what I said in the video and play in it. It is not impossible or wrong.You can do that. But for easy and fast learning if you have 3 pitched flute it would be good.
Why I insist on hearing is, our brains should first grasp the tune of the song, clearly. It should be able to help us, while we are playing. If it has grasped the the tune and where the swaras are compressed and where they are draged , and where there is stress applied, then it will correct us ,while we practice when we make mistakes.Having the song very clearly in your mind is important. They say the brain form neural circuits. Thank you for your compliment.

in capital/no variation. This representation will be eye catching and mind fixing.

I was giving the notes, only in small letters. Viewers asked me to change. I also had difficulty in reading them. So I changed.People are asking me do this and that always. I am a very old person. My son was helping me with all these upload related works. He used to hear what I mention in the video and type and put them in screen or in the description box. (He used to ask me amma I am hearing and writing , why do not the viewers do that? But viewers are interested in making me do everything. See spoon feeding is not good.)Now he has become very busy. So I am doing all the work, which is mind boggling. See if only people can write the notes themselves hearing what I say in the video and putting all the long swara capital letter and small swara small letter, I would be uploading up to 3 videos per day. Because they are not ready to the work, this much work for me and less number of uploads.
You can hear and write and put it in the comment section, people who have difficulty in reading my notes will be benefitted.Just watching the videos a few times, will make you understand, how to write it.Do not mistake me. Too much time in writing and concentrating on every note, give me head ache.

You can hear while doing some other work like combing the hair, brushing the teeth, house cleaning, cutting vegetables, cooking etc)
All you have to do is watch all the videos many times. Hearing is very very important.
