Cab Ride in CNW F7A

- During the Illinois Railway Museum's Cabin Fever Day on January 22nd, 2023, I had the opportunity to ride along with the engineer in the cab of Chicago & Northwestern F7A #411. It was quite a neat experience seeing IRM's main line from inside a 1949 F unit. Perhaps the best part of the ride was hearing the EMD 567 prime mover up close in notch 8! The trip was short, but I tried to record most of the journey, along with some detail shots of the cab interior. Sit back, relax, and enjoy a unique perspective that not many get to see!

This cab ride video in Chicago & North Western's engine #411 was wonderful, SAm! I enjoyed watching the video. Thank you for going to the Illinois Railway Museum for Cabin Fever Day!
Some people go out cruising in classic automobiles. Others go out cruising in vintage locomotives for those unlimited YT competitive railfanning points.
I was a car host on this train. Was a fun day.
Grew up by the C&NW tracks in Racine WI. Used to run down to the tracks after school and watch both north and southbound passenger trains...sure do miss those days! Love seeing the yellow and green again!
Awesome cab ride
Wow
Nice vídeo. Congrates from Brazil
Thanks for sharing that was great.
Yoooooo there’s the one and only Evan!
Such a beautiful locomotive. Still hate the bell over upper light though.
That's how the Northwestern does it!
@@SynchroScore Slight correction, North Western "does it!"
Great video Sam. Went to the North Shore Day and couldn't go to the cabin day. Looks like and hope you had a good time.
Thanks! Despite the cold it was a pretty fun event!
@@SamLovesTrains sounds like one of its A200’s are out of tune
Nice video!
With such small windown and all of that equipment stacked in front of them, how can they see ?
7:33 CNW EMD F7: Please Eat Food Please I’m Hungary!
Do I now see correctly that the driver does not have to press a dead key?
No clip from the looks of cab car

Sound like a boat horn
It's a Leslie A200 horn they were common on locomotives during the 40s and 50s.
