    That’s incredible, it’s all pointing back to the posterior chain in my mind.
    The calves, hamstrings, and glutes prevent you from falling forward when contracted. I don’t think that’s the only thing going on, surely the support is also assisting the anterior chain too. Regardless it’s awesome how much more you can lift doing Hatfield Squats!

      Yeh it’s so hard to diagnose what’s going on.

    You have the lower body and you have no upper body, you got a problem building...wait a minute. You have the upper body, and you have no legs, you got a problem building your legs. You have the upper...you have the lower body and you don't have the upper body, the upper body, it is easier to build. So if you have the lower body and you don't have the upper body, it is easier to build the upper body. You have the upper body and you don't have the legs, you got a problem building the lower body... No, you don't understand. You have the upper body, but you don't have the lower body, you got a problem building downstairs. You got the up- legs on the bottom, it is easier to build on the top, so you don't have much as a problem. Yeah

    I was thinking heavy farmers & loaded carries increase stability the most as they most intensely recruit the stabilising muscles. On the flip side though i think walking on the rocks on the beach or hiking on rough terrain with a heavy backpack would also a similar job as they more unpredictably, dynamically engage the stabilising muscles including an element of more fine motor control with the minor stabilising muscles. Any sort of climbing movement would also be useful in that regard. The pure neural element of muscle control is just as important as muscle strength. Perhaps more so.

    Really, that was kinda mind blowing. It sure looks like you could be squatting a lot more than 212 kg. Cheers!

    Okay - you've convinced me to give this a go. I'm away from my regular rig right now but I'll circle back to this in a few weeks.

      Yeh it’s a must man. Makes heavy weight seem so much easier.

  • @danielsenl
    @danielsenl 20 днів тому

    I think for the last question you are posing it is both. This is why in classic strength and hypertrophy routines one often starts off with a bench press for strength as the primary exercise, then does something completely stable, like a chest press. No neural drive for stabilisation and all the effort can be directed to taxing the chest. Maybe there are unreaped gains for you that transfer to the back squat in doing more targeted, stable exercises like Hatfields or leg presses. Increasing stability is one of the few sure fire ways of allowing increased muscular tension once you get more advanced.

  • @stevior
    @stevior 20 днів тому

    One of your greatest assets is your hip mobility but with an inclination to distribute the weight forwards >> to avoid tipping backwards. The SSB rectifies this problem via weight redistribution so there is less need to lean using the back so much, (but still has to due to limitations at the ankle joint). With the weight centered over the rear delts (regular back squat) ,there are two clear options: hips further back, something resembling standard low bar. or, slightly more knee travel. Otherwise the margin for error, or compounding stress is so thin that even millimeters of horizontal bar deviation raise the chances of a failed lift exponentially.

    • @IvanDjuric300
      @IvanDjuric300  19 днів тому

      Yeh. I imagine more ankle
      Mobility would help. But if the quads are not up for it then the problem wouldn’t we solved. The quads need to be able to handle it.

  • @Egoliftdaily
    @Egoliftdaily 20 днів тому +1

    Congrats on the PR, boss.
    Yep, the body is very peculiar, innit? You've got the strength but the body doesn't allow you to use it under certain conditions - like lifts with greater stability demands, the force output gets restrained some.

  • @molaakk
    @molaakk 20 днів тому

    Man, about your wanting to do it all raw thought:
    I am also a lot like that, I have been avoiding everything else for the longest time and just this week I decided to try leg press. man oh man the pump is insane, I feel like if I do leg press from now on my legs are gonna get twice as big and strong. there really is a place for everything

    • @ExecutionSommaire
      @ExecutionSommaire 20 днів тому

      That's a new movement so it's normal that you feel a big pump, doesn't necessarily mean it will translate into huge gains. Every time I come back to high rep BW squats after a period of not doing it, I feel like my quads are on fire but the margin for progress with that exercise is pretty small

    • @IvanDjuric300
      @IvanDjuric300  19 днів тому

      Yeh that’s right.
      I’ve seen so many people leg press a ton and have no squat.
      So like you said, there is a place for everything.

      @@IvanDjuric300 I know. You can never be 100 until you decide to go one way for at least a month. I just remember Louie always talking about the core and the lower back being the most important parts and how he hit the core several times a week. People tend to ignore it completely and then wonder why their lifts suffer, me included.
