Please join us for another important presentation brought to you by SPED*NET. Is your child struggling with daily routines and tasks? Do simple tasks take them an excessive amount of time or often go unfinished? Are you frequently asking them to focus, calm down, or hurry up? If so, your child may be having difficulties with executive functions- the mental processes that enable planning, memory, task initiation, completion, and emotional regulation. These skills are crucial for independent success both in and out of school, yet they’re often overlooked in child development.
Jeffrey Ruggiero, an educator with over 30 years of teaching and administrative experience in special education, will provide valuable insights and tools to help your child thrive, including an in-depth understanding of executive functions, practical strategies to support your child’s development, and hands-on activities to reinforce learning. With advanced degrees in learning differences and school administration, he strives to design and implement effective instructional programming for students with dyslexia, language-based learning issues, and ADHD. As a certified Orton-Gillingham Associate Practitioner and Dyslexia Practitioner through the International Dyslexia Association, Jeffrey combines his reading and language learning knowledge with his study of executive functions to develop an academic program that promotes student engagement and empowers all learners.
