1:36 why wasn't that car running their flashing lights? I know that lights can be activated without the siren, but I didn't know about the other way around.
I admit it, If I were in New York and an emergency vehincle (especially an ambulance) came up behind me with his lights and sirens on, I would rear end the car infront of me and push it out of my way so the ambulance can get through, It's New York, someone probably would be in danger and they needed to get to them
Ya I don't know why the nypd Carry around vans full of cop. I have always wondered why the nypd has all those big vans. possibly could have been cadets.
I'm a paramedic here in New Zealand. How absolutely annoying is it of the police there would it be to continuously sit in that siren? Do they get trained on how to use siren tones or is it free silly and use it ALL the time, even when there is no need to such as cars at traffic lights that cannot move?
It's a little more complicated, New York City has almost twice the population than New Zealand with less land area, and they do not use their sirens 24/7, even though it may seem this way in the video.
@@blue_bly3985 I have been taught through my emergency vehicle operators course to use a siren tone for a few seconds at a time, as opposed to several tones a second due people recognizing tones at length not several "blips" of a multiple tones a second. Wail for 3-5 seconds, Yelp 3-5 seconds, etc. creates recognizable sound. Also there have been studies done on siren noise reflecting off buildings, making it difficult to realize origin direction to know where to move out of the way. Using the electronic horn helps reduce this. One study in the UK introduced a burst of white noise (static) every few seconds to help people locate the origin of the siren since white noise doesn't echo as much. Some sirens have an "intersection mode" to reduce echo while attracting attention.
it's a police taxi
Police Fire and EMS Response Videos I’m really confused
They are undercover police only in new York
Brilliant video! Interesting to see the patrol car at 1:36 respond with siren but without lights!
+IGradeVideos In my country that is illegal.

+Soldo Moldo I don't think every single light on a cop car can be broken at the same time like that...at least a couple can be broken
Probally he forget to turn on the lightbar

Would I want to not have an incident in NYC... Take 800 years and a day before help would arrive..

They have Fire houses etc in like every block, would just take a few minutes..
Is it legal for a taxi to have lights and siren?
Aslo Aso UNDERCOVER POLICE TAXI OF "THE TAXI SQUAD"

Clever.
The unmarked police cars in Australia looked to be sporty or muscle cars and in fancy colours some are.
+Aslo Aso yes, when you want fast to the airport or you have forget to turn of your iron at home. than you choose this taxi.
