- The Philippine Coast Guard embarked on a project requiring the acquisition of seven multi-role helicopters to strengthen and expand PCG maritime disaster response capabilities during marine incidents and natural disasters, and calamities. It also requires five years of pilot training and technical crew, mission equipment and tools, and spare parts.

The PCG leadership thru the DoT Secretary should also request funding from Congress for the acquisition of some Unmanned Aerial Drones, to further boost their maritime domain awareness, and security. 🤔

If we want to be the next logistics hub, more PCG equipment should be a priority. Probably equal to that of the navy's need.

We must give credit as well to the taxpayers for Duterte administration to accomplish the projects
The Coast Guard needs an another utility helicopter provided for rescue & counter-piracy missions, then the both light & utility helicopters will be land & deployed in various beach destinations in the country (i.e La Union, Aurora, Puerto Galera, Palawan, Boracay, Isla Gigantes, Bantayan Island, Mactan Island, Siargao, Island Garden City of Samal & Sarangani). The big example is: *Airbus H175 & H225M.*
For beach rescue, the Coast Guard needs some of Beach Rescue Vehicles, probably all-terrain SUVs & Pick-up Trucks (likes of Isuzu, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Toyota, Ford & Chevrolet) it comes with sorts of medical equipment & then RHIBs & rubber boats for quick responding rescues.
Pricy choppers, but we pay for quality of these birds. Next administration should follow up more for PCG modernization.

Interesting Australia involved in phase purchase, we do have EC135 training helicopters which is similar to H145, can’t see why Australia with USA purchase more helicopters for Philippines, it make cheaper servicing n operations, overall better security nation n surrounding seas.
