I forgot to mention
- I pretty much never use my own mics on gigs. I almost always use whatever the sound engineer gives me (often a Shure SM57, or a Sennheiser e 908B)
-Both alto mouthpiece tip openings are 7
even the most dented shure sm57 still works better than anything else

What about your Bari Sax?
Bro im jealous. Your probably one of my favorite youtubers
🥺🙏🏻
3 minutes and 26 seconds of perfection
😂😂🙏🏻
I love the red on that guitar it looks so good
Fantastic rundown!! Man that Nexus-- what a beauty! 🎷
Dude thank you so much!!
I'm not a musician, but I'm somehow captivated by your channel. Keep it up!
I appreciate that🥺🙏🏻
camera bag! Genius - I've been looking for a decent gig bag and now I know where else to look!
Got this idea from a saxophonist in town named Joe Scheller!! Works great, sometimes I worry I'm putting too much heavy stuff in it but it hasn't broken yet so that's good
Awesome tech!
Thank you!!
You have very good gear, and it shows that you take good care of it. Nice video ^_^
Thank you Kinto:)
Wow! Lots of kool stuff!
Thanks:)
Interesting video. I've been familiar with some equipment musicians use, but still amazing and interesting what extent of things can be used.
Nice video!
Thanks!
Hey Frankie I got a question, if you are trying to learn how to transcribe from listening to playing, how long would you say it takes to learn? Love your vids!!❤❤
A lifetime, you can always improve your ears! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Nice!
Thanks!!
This is amazing! Do you have any alto cases you’d recommend?
Depends on what you need it for! I like my protec that I show in this vid if I’m traveling
Question: as an advanced 1st chair alto in middle school going into band 3 and jazz and starting to play tenor I am interested with your backup tenor saxophone. My question is it’s very cheap and we all know what happens to cheap saxophones. Is it worth the price and is it good and won’t fall apart in 3 seconds? Lol.
Cool insight on your gear! Been bingeing your content ever since MAGfest and I was actually just wondering about the green mouthpiece that I've seen you, Insaneintherain and others use! I've heard people say they have 3D printed mouthpieces with their color of choice and shaped perfectly to their mouths. Is that what yours is?
Ahh thank you I appreciate that!! It's 3D printed with a custom color, but it is not shaped to my mouth. I don't know of any mouthpiece that does that.
@FoolishFrankie Maybe I was lied to then LOL at the very least, I started looking into Boston Sax Shop since you seem to use a lot of gear from them! Never heard of them before video and I became curious in their reeds!
Hey bro you sound pretty good what gear do you play on?
Hey thanks I actually don’t!
EWI stand is good. I like it.
Me too!!
Is that jean pual alto saxophone that good?
fellow yinzer here, great vid!
quick question, what is the best way to get into a gig with a band or just a group of musicians
I have a vid on my channel titled “how to start gigging” that will be helpful!
How is the intonation of the Jean Paul TS400 tenor? I'm considering getting one to try and preserve my yani which is rapidly accumulating more and more gig battle scars
The intonation is as good as you can make it:)
I was wondering, what’s the best and most affordable metal mouthpiece I can get for my sax? I was looking to upgrade from plastic and wanted to get a professional opinion
Honestly I've never played metal mouthpieces so I don't know! My recommendation would be to go to a store where you can try a bunch to find what you like the best!
@@FoolishFrankie Ah ok, Thanks man!
lol I remember asking for this
I listen!!
what tip opening do you main?
7 - Just updated description to include that thank you!!
Is your boss the mk1 or 2?
It’s linked in the Amazon storefront in the description:)
If I may ask, which “toned” mouthpiece do you use for that Syos? (e.g. dark? Medium-dark? Bright?) And what tip opening?
All of that info is on the SYOS page for my mouthpiece!
Ok thanks so much!
Clarinet Setup? (I'm also considering upgrading to an intermediate clarinet. Any suggestions?)
I do not play clarinet
@FoolishFrankie I thought I saw you play clarinet in an older video
Do you normally play alto or tenor?
Alto if I have the choice
Frank made this video so he can just give a link to anyone who asks what gear he uses lol
LMAO yes 😂
didnt you forget your protection leather neck strap?
I pretty much never use that neck strap, I think I used it in one video because the string was too short on my jazzlab, but I got a longer one shortly after
So what gear do you use 🤔😂
You went with a nexus instead of a selmer Paris 🤔
Gear is all personal preference
I didn't think you could play "you can call me Al" on a whistle in F.
The original key is F I believe
What about in 326 minutes
that will take a long time to make
Have you ever calculated the total price of ur setup 👀
I did calculate it for all of my instruments a few years ago, but I was still playing student horns then so it was definitely lower. But I’ve never calculated it for all of my recording/filming set up🫣
What is the song??
My cover of pearl plunder (not released anywhere unfortunately)
third-second
Seven ate nine
What kind of toilet paper do you use? I need to know.
No free brand deals

Hi!
Hi@@FoolishFrankie
Second-first
First-second
WHERE IS BARI AND SOPRANO😮😢
I don’t own a bari, and I basically never play that curved soprano (I think it’s in like 3 vids lol)
I thought you had a Bari too because you used one in an old video I think
Next video: "It's you, not your gear! Why your playing and subscriber numbers suck!" Then next video "The gear you need to step up!" Then next video "Stop buying gear" Then... 🤣
I make like 3 videos a year about gear😂😂 I’m the opposite of a gear head, but I get comments every day of people asking about specific pieces of gear I use so now I can just send them a link to this vid
@@FoolishFrankie Just lightheartedly trolling these in general not you specifically. It's all we envious & talentless can do lol
LIAR ITS 25 SECONDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It says 26 for me🤔
Bruh, clean your tenor mouthpiece
When you gig a lot, it’s hard to keep it clean. Sometimes I’m playing for 4+ hours in a day.
'' open holes..''' lolol thats what she said
Are you 12?
