Born n raised in the Heights..189 st and St.Nicks.. a wonderful childhood. St.E's was a diverse community then a well. Irish..(me) Puerto Rican ..Greek.. and the newly immigrated Dominicans. Funny how these differences were never noticed. Well, at least by the kids in the neighborhood.
Awesome. That's where I grew up. I went to P.S. 173 elementary school on 173rd Street and Fort Washington.
Hey Actionkid 👋🏽 Enjoyed your walk through The Heights. At the beginning of your walk I saw a bunch of pigeons grabbing at some food. You have pigeons we (NC); have wild turkeys & they are big & ugly, Lol!! Yuck!!
The video starts with the White Building on the corner of 172nd street. The apartment house my Grandparents lived in 100 years ago.. Time is like a wind the passes through and destroys all in its wake. In 100 years, the children that live there now, will feel the same emotion.
AK is not too far from his previous vids on walking the across the Washington Bridge and scootering on the GW Bridge from Fort Lee NJ to NYC .

A lot of what I see on this street reminds me of Chinatown and Bloor Street (west of Bathurst) here in Toronto (a little bit.)
