Eu não fazia ideia kkkkk . Meu molho favorito

No, he was in a rich area in São Paulo. Actually less than 5% of our population can speak english.
You are right. Im graduated in foreign languages apllied to internacional bussiness..my area cover translations... internacional marketing and that stuff..and when i work with employees from hotel staff and stuff , for instrumental english classes, most of them, even coming from humble origins like favelas. Know how to speak at some degree or at least can understand pretty good the listening part and thats amazing..i guess its a reflction of the nowdays easy acess to the internet and the range and contact with tourism in those areas..so..the poorer part of the population now are aware of the importance of learning english, because they want get money with sales or services for Foreigners..have dates..that kind of stuff with gringos. @@Usasilva

@@InstantEnglishUK Anytime! Do come back, will you?!
I'm Brazilian and I can tell you that those people in your video are priviledged and considered exceptions for being able to understand and speak English pretty well, even making some mistakes sometimes. If you go to a less wealthy neighborhood or to the suburbs of São Paulo, I'm quite sure that almost no one will barely understand you.
I just went to random places not privileged areas
I used to live in this street, its called Maria Antonia. its in front of Mackenzie Univercity, a rich school with a lot of rich people 😂
@@InstantEnglishUK I see, I'm not criticizing you. But as other Brazilians have already commented, these are considered wealthy areas where people are expected to be priviledged and well educated. Brazil has a huge social and economical inequality, so people's educational background and even their appearance will vary a lot according to the region you are exploring. (for example, we couldn't see many black or mixed people in your video - they live mainly in the suburbs)
@@InstantEnglishUKNo no, sorry, but you didn't. All those places are priviledged (i live across the street from that university - only the rich ones hang out there). Social inequality here in Brazil is huge, man. That neighborhood is just for rich kid, unfortunately
@@ArthurBuscoExatamente!
It is a amazing video. Here in Brazil is very hard to see people speaking english and every time I watch videos like that I feel a great feeling
Thank for that
Glad you enjoyed the video!
O moleke tirou onda , that dude rock , he is the real deal
I don't usually comment, but overall I believe that only about 3-5% of the population can speak English fluently (and often have lived abroad). There are Brazilians who learn English without leaving the country, but they are also a very small portion of the population. English, being a Germanic language for Portuguese, which is a Latin language, requires a lot of study and memorization, which can take from 2 years for disciplined learners to even longer for those who are not serious. Obviously, it is easier for those who do an exchange or immigrate abroad.
There are more German speakers in Brazil than English speakers
The number of German speakers in Brazil is more concentrated among descendants or people with some close German ancestry. The majority of these speakers are located in the southern region of the country. However, Brazilian Portuguese is the only official language spoken by 98% of the population. Only in isolated regions of the northern Amazon rainforest are native languages spoken. Interestingly, Portuguese speakers from Portugal often consider Brazilian Portuguese to be a dialect.
Yes, that is true, but I have a question, are you Brazilian because you have a lot of knowledge about the country 🤔
actually, more than 1/2 of Modern English vocabulary derives from Latin, and ModE also has significant grammatical divergences from Germanic languages. as a Brazilian myself, I found English to be naturally achievable due to the similarities between vocabulary, and a really decisive factor is how much exposed you are to the targeted language. when it comes to ModE, we are all exposed to it at some extent, and it might be through music, cinema, videos… so its classification as a Germanic language, doesn’t necessarily add up to the amount of work needed when learning it, coming from a Romance language background.
@@hairandcia2028because it is, in fact, a dialect. Many even

It was interesting to see how Brazilians speak English and it was impressive. If I were there I would answer anything. I have a very extensive vocabulary and I know
10 000 words, but sometimes there are some words I rarely use in my everyday life. Unfortunately I don’t have many people who can speak English with me and I am desperate cuz I want to make friends so they can speak only English with me.
I don’t want everyone to speak my first language because it annoys me. My family always speaks Russian with me and no one speaks English with me. I don’t live in an English speaking country. I am bilingual and I speak two languages fluently. My studies were in English, but I only had online lectures cuz I was the only student from my faculty and others were Erasmus students from different countries, but I never met them cuz it all was online, so it was pretty boring. When I had French at my university, there was a girl from Italy, we communicated with each other and then she had to return to Italy at the end of her study semester in a foreign country. Anyway, it was great to meet someone. During online lectures I had to listen, but it also was good because it was a voluble info for me and I had good grades this year.
I will defend my bachelor paper this summer, so and then afterwards I want to move to my homeland cuz I’ve been living in a foreign country for 22 years and life is bad now, but things will get better. I want to find a good job, earn a lot of money, find a good girlfriend and make reliable friends. Furthermore, I am interested in learning other languages and I know some basic Greek words and I have a conversational level in Spanish, but I want to improve my Spanish. I’ve been working as an English teacher since last year and I am happy to help someone with English. I have dreams and I’ll do anything to make my dreams come true.

I'm happy I got all the vocabulary test correct ✅ I learned english by accident when I was a kid, not really studied it just was curious about the words. One day I just noticed I could read a entire book in english and was like "okay, fine then" 😅
I think the reason to most brazilians don't know english is because we don't use nor need it so much, everything we consume is in portuguese. People learn another language because of their job or master's degree. And young people learn more because they have a lot of contact with the language on the internet and consume a lot of foreign content.
That's fair enough, in general, i found my experience quite easy just using English. However, i did try and learn some Portuguese of course!
Brazilian speak very well, i love being Brazilian, i'm learning a lot with you ❤
Thank you
Good job!
They did great!
It’s called eliciting
The images were easy! For me, the Speaking section would be the hardest, since we hardly speak in english, that means we dont practice at all, so it gets a bit rusty.. Forming phrases while pronouncing them at the same time is hard on a brain that doesnt make it often.
Also, you were on Mackenzie university, which has most of its people from a higher economic and social class, meaning they have a better english level than 90% of the brazilians
Great Video!
Yeah I normally choose students because they are more willing to go on camera. Older people don’t want to be in the video unfortunately

@@InstantEnglishUKWell, it’s not so big and not so small. Population of almost 500,000 people. We have beach here and it’s hot most part of the year. More safe than the capital São Paulo. One of the bests cities to live in Brazil. 🇧🇷🤝🏼🏴
@@nicknightingale1776safer than the capital? Lol. What a liar 😂😂😂
@@Conservative007 obviously YES! São Paulo has the problems of a big city. Not only when we talk about the homicide rate (2.5 per 100 thousand in Santos x 5.3 in the capital), but also when we analyse the different species of crimes. I lived in São Paulo and nowadays i live in Santos, here we don’t have thieves breaking windows to steal cell phones, for example. Sure, we have crimes here, but the feeling of insecurity is different from the capital.
@@nicknightingale1776 obviously no. Who knows the mentioned areas are well aware that you said nonsense. Everyone knows that Santos is much more dangerous and violent than São Paulo.
