The comments about "my high school played better" are inappropriate. Yes, you are probably correct, but learn what the "New Horizons Band" is about. They are not high school students. Many are Senior Citizens who may no longer have the skills of younger players, or they are players wanting to learn a second instrument. Give them credit for who they are and what they are doing.
This was a great rendition. Don’t be swayed by negative comments. Especially the comment from a band of 20, no way his band covers all the instrumentation for this piece and his band is missing important voices - french horns, oboe, bassoon, low reeds, low brass, etc.
I agree that it’s inappropriate. There’s always gonna be someone better at something. That’s not the point tho! Community band is for the people who are actively doing what they love so that they can share what they love with others who love it too! Just like every other art form. Life’s not a competition lol. Those kids will learn that life lesson soon enough 🤷🏾♀️

And they definitely showed their immaturity. I’ve known the middle schoolers that were more mature than that.
