I was lucky enough to study with Jerry Bilik in Ann Arbor, back in the 60's. He's a real talent, and a very funny sense of humor. I was very lucky to have known him. In those days he was the chief composer for University of Michigan Bands. THAT was a match made in heaven. BIlik and Revelli.
I don't know who you are, but I was also in the band (in the 1970's) and have fond memories of Bilik's arrangements. My brother did arrangements for the UM Marching band and was tutored by Bilik. I heard this on Pittsburgh's classical station this morning and decided to google it.
I LOVE the OBOE but I'm too shy to have a SOLO in my BAND since I'm barely in 8th grade and my conductors name is Mr.Hinojosa and he is REALLY good at his job and one day im going to be an OBOE teacher like Ms.Briley LOVE u guys and thanks for everything💘

I played this piece when I was in college. It was such a great piece to play
Hats off to the piccolo/flute player pulling double duty. Really a wonderful rendition by the entire Band. Thank's for posting.
It's good to hear a nice sounding oboe solo for a change.
Nice playing from a great band and very good conductor.
amazing! the flutes were spot on!
What a wonderful interpretation and performance.
