I have been following Peter since 1975 when he first played with old and in the way. I feel he has been grossly under rated as a performer for too many years. His voice, his stage presence, and his delivery makes him a pillar of bluegrass and folk music. I have been lucky to see him several times over the years and every show was pure magic.
+Jan Johansson great teaching & grateful to have heard her here! I look forward to checking them out asap at a live event...I'd love to learn to play the mandolin myself
This is my 8th listen in the space of a few hours. Just beautiful. Thank you so much, Matt, England. I especially love the harmony from the violinist on the first chorus, gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!
I've been at a few Bluegrass festivals but I've never had Pete Rowan come up and start picking with us.. probably would have afraid to play to loud lest I screw it up. :)
This was filmed just a few miles down the road from Beech Mtn, a place I spent several summer vacations growing up. What a beautiful place they hail from, and I'm still hoping to see them in person one day!!
I was wondering too. I'm quite sure (after a little research) it's a (Wayne) Henderson. I read an interview from that time period and he was talking about a 00-sized slot-head guitar Henderson made for him. WH is from VA and is considered one of the great contemporary guitar (and mandolin) builders today. He doesn't make many as he's a one man operation I believe. Wayne is an amazing player too. Sorry, I'm a geek over this stuff. I bet Peter Rowan can make a Recording King sound just as cool!
Peter Rowan is the man in Blue Grass and this Band is awesome Doesn’t get any better than this and never will

That was really nice. Saw both Mandolin Orange and Peter Rowan at the Red Wing Roots Festival in Virginia a few years ago... was really awesome.
Awesome - Emily is my old fiddle student and I have to say it feels good to see this video...
+Jan Johansson Congrats to you! She's a brilliant player.
+Jan Johansson You must be an awesome teacher then.

We all owe you a debt of gratitude ma'am. Thank you kindly.
You must be so proud!
Beautiful harmonies and love the instruments. Great version of this great song.
And with the incomparable Peter Rowan, I’ve been a Fan of his since Seatrain in the 70s
Seatrain. Yes!!!!!
@@michaelzurovec1622 um... you guys ever checked out "The Rowan Brothers?"
Great fiddle and mandolin work, and great vocals
FANTASTIC!!! i can NOT get enough of you guys!!
How cool it must have been to play with Peter Rowan!
I'd like to play with the Great Peter Rowan
Man, I'm in love with these two.
Just think, all of those people going on with life in the background have no idea what is happening on top of that hill. Pure Magic!!!
I think this is my favorite UA-cam video! I just keep coming back again and again, joining in sometimes on guitar and banjo :-)
Perfect! Great job guys.
love this and can't get enough of it.
So much joy in their music!
Wow! This is truly a beautiful performance. Sometimes simpler is better, just like this. Great harmonies and vocals!
Wow --- M.O. is plenty enough --- then add Peter Rowan --- now, we're off the charts!
Love love love your sound, its like coming home. 💜😘
Great song, great delivery!
Great harmony and collaboration!
I learned this song in Evergreen Family Band. glad I came to play this kind of music.
Very nice, thanks.
I love this 💕

Really nicely done. Tasteful and bluesy.
Jerry Freeze Agree, it sounds like what it would if we were there with them.
just pure bliss!

Wow, this is really good. Great picking, nice harmony, what more could you ask for?
Lovely version. But let's give credit to the songwriter! The late great Gary Stewart!
Seriously though! Awsome y'all get too play with Peter! This band tough to beat. Awsome job
This is what happens when the universe aligns and soulmates make music.
Do they still make leisure suits? Where can I get one?
Salvation Army or Goodwill. Or steal one at a Hazard County YMCA locker room.
For this kind of music was the Universe created
I'm not sure whether this would be properly classified as bluegrass or as old-time, but it sure is nice!
definitely a lot of overlap between the two genres, and MO crosses lines in the best way
Peter Rowan, off the charts
Perfect

#King
What kind of guitar? Looks like a Brook from Exeter in the UK...
Is that a Recording King!
That's what I'm screaming?! Or either an Eastman. Need to know.

My Robin Hood
MO I hope you don't go full on rad college professor.
Well, guess that's Americana. Sounds a little Mexican.
