    Plastic blanket is so important. Even a summer rain, at high altitudes especially, can be very cold and unrelenting.

    Taras you're suppose to scrape the magnesium bar into a pile over top of the tinder then use the spark bar to light it, it works

    For the fires, the flint and steel does work. Its just that none of the fire starters are meant to be started via sparks. Find something lighter like milkweed

    i actually run this loadout. i use so many of the same products. the shovel is actually quite nice. considering the price point these are great for cheap easy travel/car kits.

    Those Mylar bags, even the very light one are absolute life savers!! They reflect 80% of your body heat back to yo, and feel like an electric blanket! they do tear easier, but scotch tape will fix!! I prefer the heavier one, has grommets in the corners, so can be used to make a tent or a lean to! Lots of goodies there!!!

    I have worn through several of those magnesium stick, you have to shave off a small pile of magnesium and it can light even some damp grasses.

    Emergency Bag? More like an emergency blanket with a little scotch tape on it.
    EDIT: Yeah, those are hexamine tablets. They aren't really meant to light up with sparks.

    When we have a potluck at Church, and the Pastor goes on......and we try to keep the food warm. Well we use those thin silver sheets!!!! Works pretty good keeping the fried chicken warm 😇😂

    Those emergency blankets (aka "space blankets") were invented by NASA in 1964 for the space program. I first saw them in the early '70's when I was a Boy Scout.
    Amazing how those are still being made and used today.

    The magnesium and flint is fine it is a user error! I have made fires with the magnesium and flint you just need to know how to do it!

    Thank you for showing these items. That tube tent, do you think it could be used to hook to a tent for storing your gear outside the tent but by placing close enough to store your gear to free up room in your main tent? I am asking because of the ground protection and overhead also

    For an unknown reason, I find there are many times I am unable to start a fire with the Mg starter, but can do it immediately with a steel

    The Mylar blankets are meant to reflect radiated heat from the fire. If you make a shelter and build a fire it keeps you very warm by reflecting the radiated heat.
    Coals have the most heat output.

    i use the mylar blankets on my windows to keep it cooler in the house during the summer they reflect the heat and the AC works better
