To easily get the paper backing off your appliqué pieces, use a pin to score across the paper, bend on the scored line and use that line to grab the paper to pull off. Much easier than trying to use the edge. Also preserves the glue on the edge for a clean finish! 💕
@nancyhelpinstill1834 Thank you soooooo much!!!! This is awesome information. I appreciate it so much! I just love this wonderful community of creative people! It’s such a wonderful place! As always, Thanks for watching and have a blessed day Nancy! Xo Gina 💕💕💕💕
Hi Gina; Thank you for replying back! You are very welcome! I am glad that I could make your day, as you always make mine when I watch your videos! You have blessed and wonderful Mother's Day too! My mom passed away in 2016, she was 80. I hope your mom is still here! If so, God bless her and you! I can't wait to see more of your creations! Aloha!
Happy Mother's Day! I'm so sorry your mom passed, My Mom is still here. She just turned 80. She wanted to celebrate mother's day yesterday so she didnt have to get dressed lol She's so funny. Thank you again for your beautiful message. It always brings me smiles. Big hugs XO Gina 💕
OMG @dsmith199 This is an amzing tip! I just finished an Upcycling Video, used this tip, and gave you credit in the video! Thank you so so much! Thanks for watching, XO Gina 💕💕💕
Fun upcycling! I hear Harbor Freight also has cheap drop cloths. I would pre wash it. Tip: attach your appliques before you sew the side seams. It is easier to press, you won't need card board inbetween. I can't wait to try this!
OMG thank you for these great tips! I have a Harbor Freight right by my house and never thought of going there for a dropcloth. Thank you again for visiting my channel Lisa! I love the feedback! 💕💕💕💕
Thank you Gina for answering my question about the "fabric fix" glue & how to care for it after. I am definitely going to pick up some the next time I go to Walmart, and I forgot to mention that I can't wait to make that "designer jacket hack" with the drop cloth! LOL
@cindypahio732 you’re welcome Cindy and I’m so happy you’re going to make the dropcloth jacket. It’s a fun jacket to wear and I bet you get asked a lot- “ Where did you get that jacket?” 😜 Enjoy!! 😘
@cindypahio732 Good morning Cindy! Thank you soooooo much for leaving this sweet comment! This just made my day! Have a beautiful weekend and a happy Mother’s Day to you and your mom 💕💕💕
I'm delighted to find your channel first for the inspiration, second for finding another GINA LOUISE! from Gina Louise Myrmel in Florida. Love your channel, BTW!
Hello Gina Louise!! @ginamyrmel8063 Welcome! I'm so happy you found my Gina from Florida! I'm Gina from New York. You probably heard that in my accent LOL Thank you for your sweet comment and thanks for watching, XO Gina 💕💕💕
Hey that is a real cute jacket! I like how easy you made it look! I bet i can make it in just a weekend. Thank you for sharing this video. Hope you have an awesome day.
@mariasmith9998 Hi Maria, so glad you liked my video. You can definitely make this in a weekend! Enjoy! Thank you for your great feedback and thanks for watching, XO Gina 💕💕💕
Thank you so much Suzan! 💕 This DIY was a lot of fun! I'm wearing it today to a Superbowl party 😊 Thank you for watching and for leaving such a sweet comment 💕💕💕
Thank you @sundancethrifter2424 It was so fun to make. I’m making another one for a child. 😊 Thank you for your sweet comment and thank you for watching. XO Gina 💕💕💕
I use Heat n Bond to hold appliqués until I stitch the edges and I peel the paper before I cut out my pieces. It’s easier than trying to peel the paper off each individual piece.
Hi Gina; I hope that you & your mom had a blessed and beautiful "Mother's Day"! I also wanted to ask you about the "Fabric Fix" or glue that you use on your projects. Can you tell me how you would care for it after? Does the glue hold everything together when you wash or dry it?
Hi Cindy, I put my garments in a pillowcase with a zipper and I wash them and so far no problems. Here's a link to the ones I use- www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1YH6WV5EFZ60H?ref_=wl_share
Beautiful...looking forward to more Upcycling ideas. I'm getting to ready to Semi-Retire and want to delve into Upcycling Clothes etc. I'm fairly new to sewing but Love the Recycle/Upcycle Medium. So you bought Stamping Letters and then placed them on a "Stamping Mount?" I'll have to check out the Craft Stores for that. I like that! Thank You for Sharing your Creativity. ❤ And yes Be Careful not to mention the Designer. She will get you with a Copyright Strike! 😢
@ilenegardner3784 Ilene, Congratulations on the semi-retirement! Time to enjoy life! Upcycling is soooooo much fun! You will get stopped by people wherever you go asking where you got your outfit when you upcycle. Everyone LOVES one of kind and unique things. Yes, I bought stamping letters and placed them on a stamping mount to create words on garments and I used permanent ink. The ink, stamps and mount are made by @ironorchiddesigns ironorchiddesigns.com/ Just have fun and don't be afraid to experiment! 💕💕💕
I love Magnolia Pearl clothing, although they take it a bit too far and make their clothing look too dirty and scruffy, like they mug homeless people, steal their clothes and sell them unwashed, lol. But I could never afford to buy anything from them anyway. So I love the idea of making afordable knock offs. We never got to see how it hung down in front because you wouldn't let go of the front of the jacket. Did you need a belt? It looked like it was huge for you. And how did you get the drop cloth so soft and plyable? The drop cloths I have are pretty stiff. Do the apliques stay on permanently after washing them or do you have to stitch them on? I thrifted some perfect flowers to use from a set of 4 placemats, so always check the placemat and tablecloth section. Thanks for a fun project.
@sharonmedeiros9819 I washed the drop clothes a few times and add white vinegar to the wash. You can use a belt with the jacket but you don’t need to. I’ll try to share some photos this week if the jacket. Thanks for watching and commenting 💕💕💕
Ya, they hit up Tmyers Handmade! I mean come on! It wasn't a copy, it was an "inspired" project😮🙄☹ You'd think they would want you to name drop? Word of mouth us the best way to advertise!
@@CraftyandChic Yes Valerie, I agree with you 100%! What happened to companies loving free advertising? Back in the day, they would even thank you for promoting their product! It's so ridiculous! Copying is Flattery - It Means Your Work Has Inspired Someone! 💕💕💕 I LOVE Traci Meyers. She's not only talented but she's a good soul. She's such a Beautiful lady inside & out! 💕💕💕 Thanks for watching, XO GIna 💕💕💕
