Thumbs down. Trash2 was great till NI put hands on it. Basically they've ruined great plugin. I deleted demo after 5 minutes. It is nothing like original Trash2. GUI is awful and workflow spoiled.
even the UI ...cwho over at izotope thought the lifeless flat knobs and stripped down modules was what people wanted ? very odd. Seems more like a Trash 0.5 Lite.
@@RemmyMusic1 yes, agree with you 100%. This is what happening when big concerns taking over smaller companies. They only care about money. I hate NI and their approach to business.
Nice work on the overview Conor, but iZotope(or more like NI), where is: - double EQ, because you might know that boosting or cutting BEFORE distortion can create really good results. Nice work on killing it! - custom waveshapes... why? Because Trash2 had it, and its lovely! - "stage filters", because I don't want low frequency rumble on high frequency bands after distorting it - pre, gain, drive sliders per bands... like are you serious killing these super important features? - LFO for the modulations (okay, we have envelope, nice) - unipolar/bipolar switch, because it is one of the coolest features My name suggestion for this new plugin is: Trash minus 3
Certainly not a replacement for Trash 2, it misses a lot and looks like a whole different product. But XY pads for a lot of distortion types and impulse responses are nice design tools for a relative cheap upgrade
Hmm ok, for the $29 I just paid for the upgrade, with trying the demo(Oops... kinda), not bad... if paid the full price...NOPE! Did the go backwards with the feature / functionality by removing things? hmmm not good. Still playing with it, though. Needs an LFO, for the convolve section. The UI is certainly on the primitive side.
I think they should have called this plugin something else. It would do well as it's own thing but to come behind as the shadow of trash 2, Sadly I would agree that it does not live up to what trash 2 was about. It is like have a less experienced singer singing after a top notch singer on stage. Even If the less experienced singer is good they will always be compared as meh just because they came behind a much better singer.
I’ve been using Minimal Audio Rift and it’s got almost all of the things that this is missing. I see no reason for the upgrade with rift and also trash 2 still in the library
The only enhancements I see are the GUI being a little less complex (less menu-diving), the X/Y pad for blending 4 distortions or 4 convolutions within each of the 4 bands, and more distortion models to choose from. The autogain is nice but I use Melda MAGC for that (its free and can be used to autogain an entire FX chain).

@@RemmyMusic1 This should be actually new, different plugin. Not named after Trash2. iZotope made a huge mistake when they've sold brand to NI.
appreciate the feedback. trying to figure out whether worth the upgrade, and your input helps confirm what i suspected.
Sadly Yes, iZotope has become TRASH since Native Instruments took over.
Izotope and NI are owned by the same private equity firm. I'd argue the PE ppl are making the wrong choices
Its trash…

Well, they were loyal to the name at least
nothing wrong with keeping T2. That era of plugins will never come back izotope is too big now not to completely destroy their legacy products 😂
ik they stopped supporting IRIS 2 and Breaktweaker@@RemmyMusic1
So I’m basically downgraded for 30$ smh
Worst „upgrade“ ever.
Hmmm. To be honest I'm not that happy with the way Trash 3 turned out, I just can't justify buying the upgrade.

What a let down this plug-in is. I've been waiting for yyyeeears for this.

theres 69 distortion type lol
Nice
Is this supported in Ableton Live 12? Planning on upgrading this year & looks like a killer tool
So this is both a better and worse version of drive shaper from Cable guys?
