Just picked up a one-off color variant of the Special Cranker at EarthQuaker Day, and it certainly is an awesome pedal! Especially at the price point. This and the Plumes are phenomenal!
The Plumes is one of the other EarthQuaker pedals I'd like to try!
The other person who commented is mean! David I think you crushed this. Sure there were minor volume changes or whatever but this is a smaller channel. You're taking time out of your day to provide a very useful demo. I appreciate it. I think you exemplified a lot of what makes the pedal special (see what I did there). I bought one today and you articulate everything about it well.

David, you had a very delicate task, but I tell you that everything was recorded and passed through the sound filters of UA-cam.
You can easily pick out the difference and quantify it.
At the very beginning of the video, the sound is a little louder than necessary, and the essence of comparing the two sounds of germanium and silicon is not reflected in the title.
I think the difference between the two diodes is subtle. The biggest difference is the amount of distortion at any given setting. The feel is different as well, which is impossible to convey in a video. Thanks for sharing, as always!
@@anotherheadlessdemo David, for many years I have been studying sensitivity thresholds in the sound-auditory area.
My preliminary conclusion is that the sensory of thresholds depends on the correctness of the internal mental preparation of the perceptual apparatus, the focus of the entire psyche.
I was ready to hear exactly those shades of germanium sound that I knew in advance. Then my ear easily caught the difference.
You were not aware of exactly what signs to catch in the sound, so the difference seemed minimal to you. If you gain experience, you will also easily recognize these shades.
There are differences, the differences are audible, and as this device is mastered, it will become more and more an instrument. Use this pedal more when doing your typical time travel sketches. He will become your tool, but for now, trust me.
