Jamie you unleashed a classic!! Great pedal very diverse, really works well with different guitars as you just showed us. I love the silicon side I find it very musical and the harmonics just bloom right out.

That first riff alone is enough to convince me I need this.
This is easily the best $100 I ever spent on a pedal. I love it for rhythm, especially. My other dirt boxes mask the guitar. Sometimes, that's what you want. But this one preserves the characteristics of the clean sound while adding grit. It's also amazing on bass.

@@EarthQuakerDevices Guys, please make bass demos along guitars, it would really be appreciated. All bass guys are tired of searching for videos of the brave bassists buying pedals and recording videos. It would really be awesome if finally an actual pedal producer will make a bass demoes for their pedals too, especially since a lot of pedals work flawlessly for bass. If the video is 10 minutes give us at least 2 , we also like to use those toys! :(
Nice to finally hear a sensible explanation about what the Speaker Cranker was designed for. I remember people demoing it saying stuff like, it gives you power tube overdrive and other totally wacko ideas.

I’ve been using it for a month and it totally rocks.
Even my THR 10 loves it as do the big tube amps.

I have this one and by far it is the fav overdrive that I own... I just love how different both modes are, both amazing btw, and I usually have a hard time deciding which one to use. The darkness on the germanium side it is out of this world, while the silicon mode is great when you need the pedal to be more "in your face". It is just amazing and it pairs amazingly well with fuzzes... I love it so much.

I recently got this bad boy and the astral destiny, those made me decide to make a EQD only pedalboard to define my personal tone. I owned the avalanche run and arrows but turned them into the tone job, organizer and cranker. At the moment is Special cranker, Acapulco Gold, night wire and astral destiny. Thinking of getting the space spiral and the data corrupter. Thanks for making such inspiring pedals, my Band Sr. carajo EPs wouldn’t exists with out your pedals

I personally feel the trouble with people understanding this pedal is that they associate earthquakes with extremes, extreme over the top in your face mind blowing and this is such a personal beauty so transparent so boutique and it really shows the dynamic character of Jamie and how in the end of all his mad science genius his favorite pedal is this beautiful overdrive that adds this subtle dynamic fur to the tone and let’s the soul speak through it! I love the Special Cracker, such an amazing pedal. I put it on my board right away. On its own it's got a warm amp-like tone that i have never gotten from any other pedal before. Also, stacking it with other drive pedals gives an incredible fuzzy tone.
Incredibly well balanced overdrive apparently. I should save some money for it after this video. Hoping Jamie will soon decide to also ressurect the mighty Transmisser !!!!

Awesome, I have a Texas Red Plumes, amongst other EQD special edition gems and discontinued. I gotta demo one of these and and the Plumes for comparison, see how both react into a Hizumitas and or an HM2W dimed 😉
I saw this at the last minute before I checked out at guitar Center. I have the Acapulco Gold and Afterneath, so very curious about this one. Love the harmonics..amazing sound with a 335 and a deluxe reverb.

This pedal compliments my perfect rigs. It amplifies the sonic goodness and slaps a listener with sexy tones. EQD, please put warning labels for the listeners. Many faces are sore.
P.s. Doubling up two SC’s is absolutely marvelous. Maybe V2 can be double channel. One into another with signal path capabilities.

How y'all stacking it? Before or after other dirt? I've always used the original and this one last in the dirt chain. I'm loving this pedal, the original was great, but this update is quite special.

I can understand why people kept on assuming the Speaker Cranker was a boost: only one knob & it's labeled "more"
Hum... a three way switch for clippingdiodes lift for MORE output & a "cleaner" sound could be cool for a future "V2"..
The Special Cranker is my new secret sauce! Pairs well with other pedals and even works great with my modelers and Amp Sims.

I run a Plumes into the Special Cranker, into a Supro Drive pedal, and oh boy, does it ever sound good.
Jamie, what kind of pickups do you have in your Jazzmaster? They sounded great through that Special Cranker! Definitely going to pick myself up one of those. Hoping it pairs well with my Tech 21 Sans Amp Classic, Jazzmaster and Deluxe Reverb!

Hey at 3 mins 30 seconds jamie is showing his settings and hes using an sg, i was wondering is it my pick ups that are low output? Because it seems like its so much more dirtier when hes playing at those settings than when i try. For me i need to be at 3 oclock n up to get it that dirty. Btw this is my favorite drive im probably gonna get a second.
One more thing anyone liking it better at 18v?? I like it at 9v but i wonder if anyone has any good things to say/ uses for it at 18v
