    Omgoodness! Right after you pulled off the liner I thought to myself "how can he not lick that off?" Then you said "I'm going to lick that off later." I laughed out loud. Love it! I am so enjoying binge watching your content. I'm new and learning so much. Thank you.

    Thanks John, I was getting ready to try plain yogurt for my pantry for baking. I never eat it but bake with it a fair amount and it always goes bad after my first or second recipe because I don't want a ton of sweets in the house. Now I know, thanks to you, I can always have some on hand for a quick bake session.

    John,
    Try 2:1 ratio.
    1 part water, 2 parts power.

    Throw some ice cubes and a pinch of salt in next time when mixing, in the reconstitution process.

    Heard Harvest Right came out with a six tray freezer dryer, I do hope they worked out the kinks.
    Yogurt looks great.

    *BOB'S YOUR UNCLE!* Wow that is some serious yogurt! I just did a little test run (plain greek yogurt) using the silicon molds, - 2 Tbs cavity. They came out great. Just add a little water at a time to I the thickness I like. Next batch I'll probably go with your method and just put the whole tub out on the tray then Pre FREEZE/Freeze Dry. It looks like your containers were 32 ounces each.. x 4 containers = 128 ounces FD'd for about a 1/2 gallon jar of Powder! Excellent video John thank you.

    2 parts yogurt to 1 part water?

  • @highflyer13131
    @highflyer13131 Рік тому +1

    2:1 ratio. 2 parts yogurt powder to 1 part water. And that is by volume not by weight!

    • @JohnInBibs
      @JohnInBibs  Рік тому +1

      correct, by weight it would be approximately 3 parts water to 1 part powder

    John question: what's the best styles of FD-ing beef? Ground, stewed, grilled etc?

    • @JohnInBibs
      @JohnInBibs  Рік тому +3

      I find that the very best results for reconstitution is beef cooked in the slow cooker. Comes out perfect. I also like ground beef as it comes out very well. I did a meatloaf once and it was GREAT. Grilled not so much for me but Retired at 40 recently did a video with steak and a vacuum chamber and sous vide and it looked wonderful.

    How long can you keep the yogurt? I am assuming you vacuum sealed the jar and will do so each time you make you some yogurt correct? Just want to know what the shelf life is for FD yogurt

    • @JohnInBibs
      @JohnInBibs  Рік тому

      Properly stored with an O2 absorber and vacuum sealed I would think 5-10 years. I would re-vacuum after each use.
