Mohammad Malibari I’m sure it is but maybe you need to find out what is under the marble flooring like how thick the concrete is. I’m saving up to buy one but I’d definitely put some jack stands as a secondary safety feature if I’m going under it
Great review. The Quick Jack is perfect for lots of jobs as well; Exhaust install, Oil Change, and my common one being brakes and rotors. I'm impressed.
Tungi Martyn I’m glad you liked my review. It doesn’t surprise me that the QJ is suited to the jobs you mention. I’m not that mechanically inclined, but it sure is awesome for detailing and wheel swaps! Two things I feel I can handle!
Thanks so much Peter. That video is quite old now, so there have been many changes and updates since then. I welcome you to check out my latest tour video to see where things currently are: ua-cam.com/video/2LJf8kr8DEo/v-deo.html
One important caution from a fellow QuickJack user. I am writing this in several places on UA-cam so fellow users can avoid a potentially dangerous situation wherein the QJ acts like it is locked, but actually is not. I LOVE my QuickJack BLX-5000, and when properly locked I'm totally happy being underneath it, but beware its "false lock" state. I unwittingly discovered a "false lock" state can be created which supports a vehicle, but can unpredictably break free. The usual locking mechanism works great and is very solid and stable. However, if you advance the QJ up just a little further before going back down to engage the locking bar, the cam can also pass over the stop point. When you go down with cam also past the locking point, instead of jamming the locking bar's cup into the locking point, the CAM can jam instead. That "false lock" did support my car's weight, but it is through the cam and its pivot pin instead of the secure lock normally created by the locking bar. The false lock looks OK from a distance, and it supported 4,000 lbs. It's just not at all secure. The cam can unpredictably pivot upward out of of the stop and the cam's pivot hinge is taking all the load. Just one nudge of the car and it could break free. Always go up until ONLY the end of the locking bar gets past a stop. Never let the cam also go over. Whether one wishes to call this a use error or design that fails to protect the consumer doesn't matter. It is vital that users be aware of this potentially dangerous false lock state so they can avoid it. In my opinion the cam should be reshaped so it can NEVER jam against a stop to create a "false lock." It simply should not be possible. When mine broke free, the locking bar luckily caught against the stop as the QJ dropped. Thankfully, I wasn't under the car and the drop didn't unsettle the lift blocks. I have reported this unsafe condition to QuickJack and also filed a report with CPSC.gov (20201128-2FEEE-2147367840) to help ensure proper follow up. The safest solution would be to reshape the cam so it simply can never form a "false lock" and retrofit all existing Quickjacks with new "false lock" proof cams.
@@RADGarage Neither had I.... until I did. Try lifting your car past the mid lock position until the cam feet go past the lock blocks. Then go down into lock and see if you get a false lock like mine did. It might not happen, but if it does, it's not a good thing. I suspect 99/100 times users simply go back into reverse as soon as they hear the locking bars go over the stops. That behavior reduces the likelihood of anyone having experienced false lock. I just happened to go further up than usual one day and discovered mine could false lock.

Oh wow, I was trying to find the info on whether the QJ does any harm to the Swisstrax and you answered it. Thanks, oh and not to mention we have the same color combo except I made my black and red overlap in sort of a 3D effect
Hey, I’m happy this video helped you find the answers you were looking for. Swisstrax and QuickJacks are a match made in heaven. Your colour scheme sounds very nice. It’s amazing what a difference a floor makes in the garage.
I wish it was just floor. Bought heavy duty Husky cabinets, Mr. Cool split mini system, LED lighting, everything is black, red, and gray. Flat screen, Fridge, I painted the roof black. I wanted a man cave / working garage. It’s amazing to work with the A/C on and the TV going. More so in this Miami humid heat but don’t even wanna say what I’ve spent. But I’m the envy of all my buddies LMAO. Anyway, thanks again for your vid. Oh one more question… have you purchased wheels/casters for the QJs?
@@fixtravels1744 Sounds like you have created a great environment to do some work and relax. The QuickJacks have little casters on one end, but I just push them around with my foot on the Ribtrax. Easy peasy.
Thanks for the video. I am still worried about safety and feel the need to put jack stands. Problem is the Quickjack occupies the jack stand area. Thanks for showing how you store it. Will try to install heavy duty hooks.
While I don't work under the car while lifted with the Quickjack, I am confident in the integrity of the design and construction of it. I have never felt confident hoisting a car in the air and letting it sit on four jack stands. It's funny how we tend to trust what we are most familiar with, despite the fact that innovation is always driving us towards better solutions. But, I get it. Use what makes you happy.
Hi Rick, I recently had an Epoxy floor installed in my garage as I also perform weekend detailing. Just wondering if the quick jack system or even floor jacks would damage the floor finish once the weight of the vehicle is applied? I imagine the bottom of the quick jacks are metal surface ?
Hey there. I would suggest you are careful when positioning the Jacks into place. They could cause scratching in the top coat layer of your floor. Once in position, the Jacks do a fantastic job of displacing the weight of the vehicle. You could possibly see some indentations in the epoxy but it wouldn’t rip right through if that was a concern. You could always lay down a thin rubberized mat to ensure the touch points don’t cause any dents or divots.
That flooring.. how do you like it ? Your application with cars etc. also, does it remove easily to clean underneath when needed ?? Personally.. anything that works safely and gets the vehicle off the ground helps.. being 6’ and having a vehicle with lowered spring cause some resistance when scheduled maintenance on the underside is due. Does it allow for a floor creeper to move over it.. doesn’t look like it. Great little addition to one’s equipment arsenal. Great video 👍🏻
Hi RJ, I am a big fan of this type of flooring system given the type of projects I tackle in my garage. The water flows nicely through the tiles so I am always working on a dry floor which is great since I do wash my car inside at times. When significant debris has accumulated on the floor, I do have to remove the tiles section by section and drag them out to the driveway. I did a video a few years ago that demonstrates that process. Since that video, I have moved to a Swisstrax floor which is a thicker tile and therefore makes it hard to "snake" the sections over a jerry can (as shown in video) so I have to remove it in 4x4 sections and lean the section up against a big garbage bin to power wash the top and bottom surface. It's not easy but I don' mind it. As for your questions regarding the QJ, I'm not sure I understand what you are asking by "does it allow for a floor creeper to move over it". You would need to access the underside of the car from the front or back because the QJ frame units occupy each side of the car. I don't perform my own fluid changes so I haven't had the need to get under there, but I have seen a few guys on UA-cam use the QJ in this manner. Let me know if you have any other questions or require any further clarification. Thanks for watching!
Just ordered my quickjack 5000 yesterday. Love your video and garage. Absolutely awesome idea about storing the pump in a craftsman roll cabinet. I can't seem to find the one you used, any chance you wouldn't mind commenting a link to one. Thanks a million!!!!
I hope you get as much use and pleasure out of it as I have. That rolling cabinet seems to be discontinued. I would grab a few more of them if they were available, but I just can't find them anywhere. The compact size of the pump makes it pretty easy to stow away in any cabinet though. Good luck fine tuning your storage system and I highly recommend the hooks recently released by QuickJack. They make for convenient vertical hanging. Check my Instagram for pics! @rad.garage
This video is a bit old so I had to watch to see what stool you were referring to. That round one is a Costco purchase. It’s labeled Craftsman but 1000 companies market it. It’s ok, but now I have a Vyper Chair so all my other stools got the axe.
Nice video! You said -and also showed in the video- that you are washing your car inside your garage sometimes. Where ist the water going? What is your solution? I like the idea of having a dry floor and even being able to use the QJ on it. Thanks and cheers from Germany.
Markus Mahn Garage floors are pitched at a slight angle here to allow water to drain out of the garage. Our winters are long and the snow melts so our garage floors are consistently wet. The Swisstrax helps maintain a dry surface to walk on so I love it.
How far backward does car travel when lifting from floor to full height? I only have about 1.5 to 2 feet at the back of my truck when it is pulled all the way in my garage. Want to make sure I can lift it and not hit garage door. Thanks
