I love watching people react to this for the first time lol. I was definitely too young to be watching it when it came out on video but I did anyway. The second one is great too and I like the third one as well.
I've seen scary movie atleast a thousand times and I've NEVER noticed the scream poster by the front door at the beginning. Good catch!

Every single scary movie is hilarious! Don't let people tell you that the 1st movie is the best, they mostly say that just because the mask is in it. He's hilarious of course but since that's a parody of Scream they don't keep him in the other movies. Regardless they're all absolutely hilarious.

Scary Movie 3 and 4 are my favorites. I remember my uncle bringing my sisters and i and our cousins to see this first one when i was like 7 for some reason instead of the Digimon movie we wanted to see lol

I think you should totally continue this series, atleast through scary movie 4. Scary movie 5 had a drop off of quality just in the lead role and fell flat. If you do Scary movie 2, i would highly recommend watching the movie The Haunting from 1999 with Liam Neeson as thats the main plot line the movie follows if you havent seen it already. And maybe The Exorcist though that only really comes into play for the beginning

Yeah, a lot of it is trash just kicking down lol. I mean, slapstick and jokes about trans people can be funny, but it has to be clever.

I’m a sucker for Scary Movie 2 myself. Yep I’m one of those peeps who say 1 & 2 are superior to the others but 3 is decent.
The only I think you really need to watch for the second one is “The Haunting” with Catherine Zeta Jones. I’ve actually been dying for someone to watch that as a reaction for years anyways just because it’s such a good movie. It isn’t required to enjoy Scary Movie 2 but it is the basis for most of the major plot points.

You really need to have seen 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' lol. This movie has so many references.
I would reccomend all four of them (is there a fifth?) provided you know the main film it's making fun of.

The other half of this movie is "I Know What You Did Last Summer" so you should probably watch the other Scream movies.
Olivia from scream 4 is actually the most brutal kill in the franchise.
The "Whats uuuuuupppp" scene gave the world years of interesting answering calls. Back in the early 2000s you answered the phone like that, when the custom cellphone ringtones came out, you you had a "Whatsaaaaapppp, pick up the phone" ringtone. As well as "Run, bitch, ruuuuunn", those scenes were classics.
Scary Movie and Scary Movie 2 are my favorites.

Bet many people watched this over scream 3 cause fans were tired of teen slasher sequels...they came out near the same time..if scary movie came out later in 2000 in in early 1999 it may have not done as well cause there was no scream hype or hate but in early 2000 everyone was against scream so scary movie was so marketed and watched cause of timing..instead 1999 when trailers dropped for it everyone was happy

This is an extremely unpopular opinion, but I prefer 3&4 over 1&2 lol. 3&4 were made by David Zucker, who directed Airplane and Top Secret! And Naked Gun and BASEketball (some of the best spoof movies ever). Don't waste your time with 5 though, it's quite bad (completely different writers and directors and producers from the first 4)
