Wow. God continues to use you guys, and He continues to give you new ideas to help us truly understand scripture. I have always needed/enjoyed the Biblical book overviews, but now the drilling down into specific scripture by Bible Project is even more helpful. We are thirsty for understanding. For such a time as this He is working through BP. Thank you for staying obedient to what God has called you guys to do!

very moved to watch this just now. The passage means a great deal to me - given to me to read the last time I have read scripture in public - years ago now - in a historic church of significance in Scotland re John Knox, the Reformation. One of those spine tingling moments. But then also because some of it ... 'comfort those in mourning' ff was prayed over me by people who did not know me. Kept it to my heart but without understanding why I would be like an Oak of Righteousness. Great strong trees, majestic - not me at all! You have opened a window to my understanding here. My heart is lifting in praise - I continue to ponder. God bless and prosper your work. Thank you.

This is a beautiful and rich chapter that corresponds with the Day of the Lord, with New Jerusalem, the 144,000 (an indefinite number), and much more. "a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God...dressed in long white robes...the ones who have come out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb!...Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb!" (Rev. 7,14,21)
Awake and fill your lamps with oil and clothe yourself in your glorious garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city. (Matt 22,25; Isa. 52)

Everyone should go read Luke 4:14-21 after watching this video btw. It's so interesting where Jesus stopped reading that day in his home Nazarene synagogue. He stopped in the middle of verse 2. He did NOT read the line "[to proclaim] .. the day of vengeance of our God," There was no "cutting" a covenant (verse 8) during Jesus first visit, only part #1 "to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor". Part #2 will get spoken next time I'm guessing.

So much of it sounds like the renewal of Israel as a real nation in 1947. Is it possible that the start of Israel was the start of this prophecy, culminating in a completion series of events that we read of in other parts of Scripture?

No, the Jubilee is not also called the day of vengeance in verse 2. He is proclaiming two separate things, 1.) the Jubilee _AND_ the 2.) Day of Vengeance. It's not one and the same. Otherwise, Jesus would have read both in Luke 4 but He left out the 2nd proclamation of " _the day of vengeance_ " because Jesus is both Mashiach Ben Joseph _AND_ Mashiach Ben David Who comes twice with two separate missions.

You’re not even 10 years old. You have conscious thought, you know where you are, who you are with, and how you got there. There are other people, kids; kids your age, maybe 1, 2, 3 years older than you. You have a sibling, older, younger, or none at all. Yet there are other people. You can’t live in a world without being around other people. There is 1 Bible verse I will reference. It helps for this situation. No one understands why we seek other people’s attention, yet we all do it. No exception. There is nobody on earth who is perfect, Jesus was the last living being on earth to have that title of perfect. We see other people and wish we had what they had. Looks, wealth, health, and their smiles. If nobody is perfect then why do we believe that everyone other than ourselves is perfect. It’s because we know ourselves, we know personally we are imperfect, yet we can’t apply that same knowledge to other people. If we believe we are imperfect why can’t we believe even the “perfect” believe they aren’t perfect. We are chained to the idea that our thoughts and minds are unique. Do we not come from the same place, is our blood and body not composed of the same materials. We are all flesh, mind, and spirit. God is our spirit and covers all of us. As a child with other children around I thought, I want to be funny, I want someone else to smile in order to feel content. Ironically this was in church. So I did silly things and never got what I wanted. I became the butt end of the joke. I always fell short because of my mindset of 2nd. 2nd son, 2 years younger, too ugly, too myself. So you change and nobody cares, or you don’t change and everyone stays the same distance away; far. So I changed. I was wrong to have wanted to change. It’s an early thought to seek someone’s approval, life is small and simple when you are young. People your age or close to you are everything. Yet as you get older you realize, everyone lets you down and it’s not their fault. It’s our fault; it’s my fault. You seek happiness in simple times because you see perfection in a figure you weren’t born with, in an item you don’t have, in a person you want to connect with. It’s simple, to be happy you need money, good looks, and an exclusive romantic partner. Yet nobody is perfect. You can give a person all the time in the world, all the money in the world, all the gifts in the world, and it’s never enough. Yet “perfect people” give none of that to someone they connect with and it works. You will see more attractive people together than ugly people together, even ugly people don’t want ugly people. It’s unfair. Life is unfair. Even as this is written It’s horrible for me to say it’s unfair when in a world where people die unjustly all I care about is what I’m writing, that is unfair. The world is unfair. You will see attractive couples struggling, really truly, struggling. Life is ironic. You can be a complete person by having stability, loyalty, and love, yet without looks nothing matters. Ugly is scary. Attractive is happiness. These people who aren’t you are perfect. Some have it all, looks, money, connections, fame, and much more. You want it, it looks good. It looks like happiness. You’re a child, you see kids playing, you want to play, you want to be happy. Who are you? Are you a child, or did you grow up? Children who can think and make decisions don’t cry, they cry when it hurts them or they want something. They make mistakes. Children who can’t think and make mistakes will cry and grow up. We all cried when we learned that other people are happier than us. We all cried when we learned life is unfair. We all cried when we learned everything was ironic. We all cried when we all learned it’s always our fault. I cried when I learned that I couldn’t do anything. God can. I learned that by listening and hearing I found that you can make a connection to why we see others as perfect and how we can learn from our mistakes. I wanted to be happy. Everyone wants to be happy. So for me and everyone else to be happy, we give up everything for other people. We revere them and hold them up higher so that they can say, yes, I do, accept you. So now you can be perfect in our imperfect ways. Now other people will look at you in envy, jealousy, and desire to be like you; and you don’t care because you already made it. You give someone else everything in order to be on the other side of the fence. The grass is greener. Except, no. You never made it to the other side of the fence. You gave up everything and now you failed, or embarrassed yourself trying many times. You keep looking and trying over and over again and you get angry. Life is in your way. You blame everyone. You don’t believe you deserve to be punished. You are alive. You are alive. Life made a mistake. How?!. God doesn’t make mistakes. God is the future, past and present, God knew you were born before he created the stars in heaven. God is good. God created Adam and Eve. Perfect. They were made imperfect after failing god. It’s the oldest story in the Bible. We are made imperfect and born with sin. We are imperfect, no exceptions. God is good. Our hearts suffer when we feel insecure, or when we aren’t happy with ourselves or our current situation. So we look away from God and call what we see perfect, yet it’s made by the desires of man. God is there. By wanting to be happy, we give someone else status in our brains and hearts as a king, only to fail or make it to the other side, only to harshly find out it’s not greener. Jesus is king. Nobody is king in any kingdom. We failed and should seek to accomplish not giving titles to someone in our hearts, God fills us with love, everything else is truly just heartbreaking and only going to hurt you. “You shall have no other God before me”. Don’t place others in your heart before God. Don’t not exalt kings, or praise others, or weaken yourself to men your age, older, younger, dead or alive. Do not seek happiness in darkness. Seek truth, seek the answers between you and God. Work for happiness, but don’t place it in your heart either, God is happiness. Believe God, and happiness will flow.
