- On Day 9 of my Allagash Wilderness Waterway Ice fishing camping trip. All-Star cast including the Osborne Brothers! Pat and David Dudley had just left. We get visited by the Maine State Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Biologists. Super cool biologists with loads of information. We also topside a few trout including brook and lake trout.

We got a lake in Northern NH that got Stocked with German Browns long ago. Hard fishing. Always windy, but Beautiful Views.

I got stuck with my truck on a lake in Minnesota last year. My wife was recovering from spinal surgery. She loves to fish do I was trying to get her out. Made it half way to my spot and got stuck in a drift. I tried for an hour before I went to find help. Found a guy he we spent the next hour getting my truck out. He wouldn't take anything for helping me. There are good people out there.

When I was a kid we caught big salmon every trip. It was an 18 inch limit when I was a kid. All he said was correct along with both sporting lodges in here not operating for fishing anymore. Lack of fishing pressure was the big factor. The overpopulation of salmon led to a decline in smelts. Hell they even used to stock lake trout here in the 80's. Good news is there plan is working. Seeing some healthy salmon this year.
Very good to hear. Closing of the mills really had a huge decline of fishermen as an impact factor .

Northern Maine wardens are easier to deal with then central maine wardens in my experience but overall most all are great to deal with.

Warm though! Sitka makes great gear to keep you warm. Wear mine for hunting mostly.
