I never get why they are always so surprised about hiccup riding dragons. Like everyone but Gobber in berk treated him like crap at the start of the movie even his dad.
I mean in a world where they were only taught to kill dragons and to despise them, I’d say it’s pretty surprising for them! Also since he’s the chiefs son you’d think he’d hate them the most even when he’s a „weakling“, so I’d say it would be quite shocking for them to find that out and also in the movie when he tried taming hookfang (dunno if his name is spelt right because I would watch the movies in a different language) everyone was shocked and confused, apart from his dad of course
