Because we don't have the equipments they have and also the finance .also they dont have their old parents to take care of . We asian have to do that not that I am comparing . Also they are pretty big risk takers . When they set their mind to do something they just do it . We can see the result ...

I'm Vietnamese. This is such an astounding video. The best video about VN I have ever seen in youtube. This video will be a precious marketing document for worldwide friends who want to visit VN in near future. But wait a second? I suddenly reconsider it and realize we got 2 problems here: 1) This Vid wasn’t made by Vietnamese, dudes. The foreigner made it for us. That's hilarious. None Vietnamese can make a single video to describe how beautiful our country is. Then what are you proud of? Those Russian guys are just minors, not many people can actually see these things and surely they are also not willing to make one of high quality cost free video like this again. This is extremely rare. I wonder what is wrong with us. Is it because we underestimate our country before this video or we seriously have bad taste of recognizing the beauty? If Vietnamese can’t make it, then who is going to make it for us? 2) Secondly, you think our country is beautiful, isnt it? Yeahhh, it is. Vietnam no doubt has many world class significant natural wonders. And they are impressive, stunning, and tremendous such as Son Doong cave, Ha Long Bay, Phong Nha cave.... HOWEVER, tourists once came to Vietnam, may prefer never coming back this country. Whyyyy????? The answer is they have bad taste of Vietnamese human. One of my Aussie friend said "Vietnamese treated us like shit, man. They thought our white people are bunch of stupid guys. The locals overcharged us, they made fun of us and when we refused to buy something, they yelled at us. Do they think we are idiots or something? No, we aren’t". This is nothing but true, bros and if we don’t change, sooner or later this will appear as our stereotypes. www.huffingtonpost.com/matt-kepnes/why-ill-never-return-to-v_b_1241016.html Frankly, there are a lot of things we need to do after we see this video… Hope for better place!
1. You have your point, but you address the wrong problem. This video is well-made, but it is not at all a masterpiece. There are dozens of similar videos made by Vietnamese people on the internet. It is just that you have not yet seen them. Why? Because they are not popular enough. Vietnamese youngsters nowadays would prefer watching and sharing some ridiculous gossips from Kenny Sang rather than watching and sharing a video about the beauty of their own country. That's the real problem. 2. This is an old story. You are absolutely right when saying that we need to make a change as soon as possible. But bear in mind that Vietnam is not the only place having this issue. You will encounter it in most developing regions of the world, wherever poverty and ignorance exists. The articles you cited may reflect the real experience of a tourist, but not all of them. Many of my friends still consider Vietnam as a very nice and friendly place to visit, and most of them were prepared with something like being overcharged or cheated even before they came to Vietnam. They know that Vietnam is a poor country after all. So, what I want to say is that: it's good to be aware, but don't be too pessimistic. Vietnam is still very beautiful.
We love Vietnam. My friends and I are living New York. We visited Vietnam twice in the past 5 years. We already planned to come back to Vietnam next year. In addition to its great cuisine, Vietnam is a shopping paradise. The Vietnamese are probably much friendlier than others. By contrast, the Shanghaiese are without a doubt the rudest ones. The Aussie guy's experience was probably the exception. Also, the Huff Post article was written in 2012 telling the author's own experiences in Vietnam 2007. Vietnam has changed a lot since then. In one experience, the author wrote, " ...while in the Mekong Delta .. I was thirsty, so I bought a common drink in Vietnam - water, lemon, and some powdery, sugary substance in a plastic bag..." Nowadays, tourists in Vietnam can find all kinds of bottled water and soft drinks everywhere for just about 50 cents/ each. Remember Texas-based circle K chain stores opened in Vietnam 2008. Also, the Huff Post article was just a personal blog, which means the author talked about his own experiences. He didn't speak for all the tourists in Vietnam.
Travelling to other countries can also have many issues. Experiences shared by many travelers are from annoying to frightening. In China, water and toilet paper are not always there as expected. Also, most of the internet sites are blocked by the Chinese government, and how to order food when most of the menus are only in Chinese? Heavy popllution in Beijing triggers your asthma attacks, and a Thai policeman in Pattaya slaps a female Russian tourist in the face for some scooter parking issue. Now, pick your issues, and travel to where you want to go.
Like so many have said, wonderful video. I’m 62 and have been fortunate to have traveled a fair bit,yet l am jealous that l might not see Vietnam.Keep travelling everyone, your time is limited.
