    Im gonna have to adopt the double stroke method in the Scherzo 22-24 section. Those were so clean you couldn't tell the difference between the notes

    Like the double strokes on the first lick. That sounds the best to me. Well done!

    Fantastic playing! I have a question as a composer: sorry in advance if this is a really stupid question- I know glockenspiel rings after each note, but is there any technique or special type of instrument you can play to play staccato on glockenspiel? I have this one VERY short set of like 4 or 5 notes that goes by in less than a second- it is on piccolo and it has like 4-5 staccato notes- it's partly coupled by gl., and electronically it sounds great when the glockenspiel plays it staccato, but I'm not sure an actual glockenspiel can play that at all. I don't know any percussionists personally I'm in touch with that I can ask.

      You could try a pedal glock, it works similarly to a vibraphone, although it may not give you the exact sound you are looking for

    So why trill from Ab to Bb 3 before 24 when the rest of the orchestra trills between Ab and B double flat?

  • @fabianenriquecorreaguette6844

    Amazing playing! I have a question, on the trill starting three measures before 24, are you playing only the Ab or you are rolling on two different notes and which are them?

    • @fabianenriquecorreaguette6844
      @fabianenriquecorreaguette6844 5 років тому +1

      Is it Ab and Bb?

      @WJPercussion  5 років тому +2

      I'm playing a trill: Ab and Bb. It's not just a roll. Hope that helps and thanks!

      @@WJPercussion thanks! This helps a lot. I have another question, what is your reasoning behind the mallet selection?

    • @WJPercussion
      @WJPercussion  4 роки тому +2

      I find that in the audition a big metal mallet can be too much and overwhelming. Maybe even harsh so I use a smaller size with a fiberglass shaft.

      The black mallets are the Malletech ORMG55. We changed the shafts to white since this video, well because, they just look cool, but are identical mallets. The aluminum are the ORMG58 and same change on the shaft color. Check them out!

      William James Percussion thanks. Right now I’m using the os5 mallets for this except. I have like a 50 dollar dinky bell set so it’s hard to get a rebound lol
