The fact that the passengers were wearing their seatbelts was worthy of comment? Of COURSE they had their seatbelts on; everyone is required to do that prior to pushback, and the FAs inspect each passenger. Also, the jets did not "clip each other." One was stationary, and the other "clipped" the stationary one. Also "clip" might meant hitting one of the winglets, but losing the entire empennage (vertical and horizontal stabilizers and rudder? Yep, that is a bit more serious than just "clipping." Ah, the media.........
Well said. The larger plane collided with a smaller stopped plane.
@@bobknull7502 didn't collide. clipped it as it passed aft of the stationary plane.
I'm not going to fault someone who just got off that CRJ for too much detail talking on air.
Anchor said, "Clipped." LOL There's an understatement.
So, the smaller Delta plane didn't taxi far enough across the runway and the larger Delta plane headed for Tokyo "clipped" the smaller tail stabilizer and ripped it off completely?? "Ripped may be more accurate!
@@zubenelgenubi No "runway" was involved. Taxiway only.
The nine most terrifying words from ATC to a pilot: "I have a phone number for you to call."
And of course hour a pilot . How else would you know that
@@sherwinsalvatori6997you don't have to be a pilot to know that.
No, two airplanes did NOT "clip each other". The RJ was to hold short on the taxiway turnoff, the other plane passed behind him and his wing got the first plane's tail. First plane was not moving. He was just not up to the hold short line.
What did the guy on the phone say? Didn't quite catch that
sounded like he said break 1 9
Apparently the pilot had lots of air time, but not enough ground time!
"seemed to make contact" ya think? the whole tail section was taken off!
There I was stopped on tarmac Golf 3 when the big thingy wing on back fell off.
😂😂2
“Seemed to make contact” why doesn’t these new people actually just say 2 planes made contact? It’s clearly obvious by the photos! Always have to be dramatic for no reason!
At least it didn't happen in flight!
Wow, Delta hits Delta at their hub. That's a chief pilot that's gonna have his hands full.
Those are big planes a lot to watch
Clipped each other😂
The one plane decapitated the tail of the other.
The CRJ wasn’t completely at the hold short line. The larger aircraft was on centerline. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure this out
What is Air Traffic Control doing- again???
Hope not. Retired ATC in 2014 after 33 years. Experienced the steady decline of high standards. I don't fly anymore.
But, Trump is right "they don't know what they're doing"
@bigtaiho does he know 😂
Another DEI hire!
@@popawheelie488About another white privileged hired! 🙄
The other plane “disappeared”. Delta trying to minimise the incident by hiding the other plane.
They had to get it out of the way. You can't just direct traffic around them, like they do with cars. Anyway it's pretty hard to hide an incident like this.
@@Fred-mp1vf Where is the other plane? It was certainly damaged.
@@Fred-mp1vf Then where is it fredward
Can't you get better audio from the guy on the plane
Sounded like he was saying break 1 9 into 2 soup cans and a sting
They can fix that with a little Gorilla tape
everybody’s following the story but nobody knows what happened. How ridiculous.
And how does this change MY life?
@@roberthanisko9749 It took 20 minutes off of it
Someone is going to get fired
Ooops!!
Nice stock photo there Scripps
From 1998.
What the hay!!!!
seems to be fault of smaller plane enroute to Lafayette La
Listening to "News" types yammering on and on gets tiresome after a while.
Imagine the liability.
Good luck to the airline and traffic control
That’s why they have insurance, exactly like your car.
@@j.heilig7239 yes indeed. And in your country this will be lawyers queueing up to make millions.and pushing the insurance premiums higher even for a small injury.
that sucks those poor people didnt even get there peanuts and soda what is this world coming to
Where peanuts?
Interpretação?
Drug sceen time
Another DEI hire!
Diversity hires
Hope that was said as a joke. Though, a very poor joke
Lol
