Arif Lohaar is a folk singer his father was also a folk singer from Punjab province n his talent transfer to him n that instrument in Arif hand was his father's creation as lohaar means black smith which they adopted during their musical journey unfortunately his father died in car accident when he was in 10th grade he is the youngest one n have 4 or 5 sisters
The middle girl in the back up singers is Sanam Saeed. She is a famous actress here and my favourite. Check out her short film "Full Circle".(It has subtitles)Her co-star in it is an equally handsome actor Mohib Mirza. It is about a couple in which the wife has memory loss after an accident. Excellent film.

this genre of music (pakistani folk music) is an old mans subculture that relied heavily on the use of hashish. this isnt every day type of music and never was in pakistan either. What happened was back in the 90s, people like Bally Sagoo started remixing Qawwali music with Ragga and it went down well. It became quite a popular thing to connect with culture in this way by updating/remixing something old for a younger audience. Arif lohar himself is not the originator of these songs, he's just the son of Alam lohar who was legendary but again, this is a subculture and certainly not everyones thing. now a lot of guys listen to the songs because of 'the deep lyrics' and yet ive studied islam and sufism on a deep enough level to know that the originators of the underlying message here, were not song and dance type of people. they were like Epecticus, living the type of life most cant and wrote poetry in the process. ive heard 'Alif Allah' remixes inc by a guy called Dr Zeus...and i think it's disrespectful as hell to the person who first wrote the poem (5 centuries ago) given he was actually against the use of musical instruments completely in his sufi order, it's also disingenous given he was not about peace and love but a very staunch muslim who despised disbelievers and supported aurangzeb when he was murdering the gurus. makes me laugh when sikhs remix his poetry in music and dance hard to it. this world is full of idiots.
