Hey Cam I learned 2 new tips out of 10 - Thank you! Tips about intermediate to advanced options scanning would be of a lot of interest to me in particularly bullish / bearish vertical spreads, covered calls, cash covered calls. I am familiar with the scanning tool, adding more insightful know-how as to what factors / studies to consider, then choosing the top best 7 trades.

Love the tool that adjusts for dividends. Never seen that before and about half were new.

In streetsmart edge the chart default view showed my positions and my options and my orders. TOS can be configured to show my orders, but I cannot figure out how to get it to show my positions. How can TOS be set up to show my positions on my charts? Thanks so much. These are great videos.
One quick way to view your positions via Charts is to click the "Down" arrow in the Symbol box in the upper-left. There you will see a tab labeled "Positions." Again, I hope this helps, and I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the videos! ^CM

Here's that process: To add multiple symbols to a chart, go to Studies > Add Studies > Compare With > Custom Symbol. Then just repeat for more symbols. Hope this helps! ^CM

I will inquire as to the questions that have come to my mind. But first, with the option code. I would like to know if there's a way to quickly close the trade using that code? And, again, in regards to the option code, if there's a way to look at open interest & volume by date leading up to expiration.
Happy to clarify: 1. The code isn't really necessary to open or close a trade. That said, there are a number of ways to quickly close an option trade on thinkorswim. For example, from the Monitor tab, one can simply right-click on an existing position and select "Create closing order" from the resulting pop-up menu. my video titled "10 Quick Ways to Place a Stock Trade on thinkorswim" may also be helpful (most of the techniques also work with options trades): ua-cam.com/video/QD_vt9O5LhQ/v-deo.html. 2. Yes, you can see historical open interest & volume closing values via the "thinkBack" tool on the Analyze tab. Just enter the symbol for the stock of interest, then select a date using the calendar on the right.

Thank you. There were some interesting new features that I didn't know about. In particular, looking at the Option Code. I was able to chart it, but had no idea what it was telling me. Is there a video that describes how to analyze an option code chart?

ok I have pressed on and now the streaming ticker is interesting but I have no Home Screen link on my top banner? I am in PM simulated trading and logged in via my SSE account? Do I need a diff setup to see this Home Screen? Thx
I commonly review individual studies in my "Getting Started with Technical Analysis" series (the last three webcasts have included examinations of VWAP, AVWAP, and Volume Profile, for example.) You might also want to check out "Advanced Charting Techniques" on Fridays. I hope this helps! ^CM

That you needed to produce eight lessons indicates how difficult the change over from Street Smart will be. Will cost $$ to investors.
I certainly understand your concern. When switching from one platform with the depth of resources that Street Smart possesses to another of similar or greater depth, there is certainly going to be a learning curve. This series is my attempt to assist with that effort. That said, you've given me an idea for an upcoming webcast, which will be intended to demonstrate the many thinkorswim users can learn all they need in a single, 20-minute session. I disagree completely. I was able to use Think or swim immediately for a variety of functions while I continued to use my other platform. That would be silly to stop using the platform you’ve familiarized yourself with to use TOS cold-turkey. You should always be learning and experimenting with new things in trading. Always. What’s dangerous is not doing that. TOS is probably one of the most thoughtfully laid out platforms I’ve ever been exposed to. I find myself using it more and more as I learn more and more about it. This is my first time listening to a lesson video on TOS and loved it. Learned a ton. It’s Friday and will be experimenting with what I’ve learned over the weekend and using it on Monday. Especially loved the last tool for options that gives probabilities. Going to check that out now. You taught an old dog several new tricks.

You'll note that my thinkorswim PaperMoney demonstrations are actually using real-time trading data, which is indicated in the upper right-hand corner of my demonstration platform ("Realtime data"). Your own live trading account will have real-time data, but your PaperMoney may not. If this is the case, you may want to call Support at 800-435-4000 to see if they can switch your PaperMoney to real-time, as well. I don't believe there is a cost for this change, but just ask to make sure. Thanks! ^CM

Happy to help! My demonstration is done on the thinkorswim desktop software, and will look significantly different if you happen to be using the web-based version of thinkorswim. The software can be downloaded free of charge from the Trade tab in your Schwab online account. ^CM

Happy to clarify! Most of the scripts being shared by coaches (I actually don't share scripts in my webcasts) were created on the Schwab version of thinkorswim and only work on that platform. They do not work on the TD Ameritrade version. As all remaining TD Ameritrade accounts will shortly transition to Schwab, this should not be an issue for long. In the meantime, you may certainly ask if the coach happens to have a TD Ameritrade script to share. I hope this helps, and thanks for watching! ^CM
