The good news is that it'll probably be another year until this happens again. Oh sure, starting around May 1st, the daily thunderstorms will pound FL for 2-3 hours/per day for most of the summer until September/October when the Hurricane will blow the house down ... again.
The landfills are not big enough ti accomodate all of this debris. Being from Sarasota, circa 1950s, and watching all of this construction in the sand, whatvwill happen when the beaches are contaminated by sewage overflows, dangerous remains of buildings, etc?. Now we know. It will be some time indeed before I will be returning to the beaches where I have gone my whole life.

I remember going down 41 when it was just a dirt road one lane you'd have to get over to let somebody go by it took 30 days to get to Tampa and back
