Pleasing to hear ‘tough love’ is an option. I’ve heard far too many dob behaviour professionals says you must always be softly softly. We found that 2 nights of tough love in her crate worked for our Sprocker.
Love this channel btw. Honestly so helpful with our Sprocker. We’d have definitely took our Sprocker puppy to your training course, but Derby is a bit too far away for us. Great vids!
Yep. I had that puppy blues felt sick the next day was actually sick thinking what I’d got myself into. Wish I’d looked into getting a puppy more but for him now And will do my best
looking at getting a spaniel this year, these videos are amzing learning so much had spaniel gun dogs when i was young but need to learn everything for a new pup thats maybe not a trained gun dog
These videos are great! I’ve just lost my cocker and getting a sprocker pup in a few weeks. I agree with confining to small areas at first then allowing them into other rooms as time goes on. If we allow him in the hall but use commands to stop him going upstairs at first, if we then allow him to go upstairs later on, is he going to get confused with the commands?
I have an anxious child (aged 10) who wants the new puppy we are soon getting to sleep in his bed. I’m fine to let that happen; but also don’t want to set the puppy up for bad behaviors.
