I just want to say that I watch this video three times. I took the advice that you have with my New Cavalier King Charles spaniel max. And walked him yesterday tired him right out playing in the house and the barking has come to almost a cease zero. What great advice you guys are amazing. My wife is now watching and taking my advice that I got from you. You’ve got a lifelong follower thank you so much for your help.
Excellent advice. I have a spaniel who used to descend into total panic when I left him in his pen. A companion dog helped as did feeding him and playing with him in his pen. He will now go to his pen every morning on command with his tail wagging. Calm and quiet is not a description I can use when I come home though.... or any other time come to think of it unless he is asleep
my 10 month old English cocker spaniel does have legitimate severe separation anxiety like nothing ive seen before. He used to be crate trained very well and I could leave him alone for a few hours without complaints. Now, ive had to get rid of the crate (he began hurting himself by attempting to claw his way out), I don't leave him contained In a particular room because, again, he scratches the walls so badly he hurts himself, and with free roam of the house he can manage about 10 minutes alone waiting for me at the front door with mild whimpering before it gets blown very out of proportion. I don't work currently but im going back to school soon and it pains me to see him this way. Im so glad I came across this video! I haven't seen anything this extensive on the topic of separation anxiety and Im so eager to help my boy
This video gave me hope that I may be able to re-introduce the crate very slowly and hopefully in the future have him be okay alone just for a few hours id be so satisfied
Our Boykin spaniel only whines when one person leaves the house and that is my sisters boyfriend. He raised that dog since he was 8 weeks old now he is 3. If anyone else leaves the house he doesn’t care unless he can see us in the back yard.
I had a springer that got a bit destructive when we left home, he was blind and would snap the edge of the wood trim. Surprisingly his brother was less bothered but would also do it because he saw his brother during it. We know this because we caught it on video. It also seems to stop shortly after switching flea medication.
Great vid guys. I have just purchased a 5 year old English Springer who is the most wonderful pooch in every way. Loyal, loving the most affectionate dog you could wish for BUT ! suffering very badly when left, I exercise him every day, running long walks, had some herbal calming tablets from the vets but as soon as I go to leave the house he's going crazy, crying, barking non stop. I've tried treats, giving him a safe place where he's quite happy to sit in, an old sideboard which makes up as an indoor kennel, really could do with some further advice.
My spaniel is so superglued to me that if I am out of eyeshot, he barks and if I dont respond he cries, and a day ago he escalated into a Barry White Howl. But he is ok. he sleeps in his crate when I put him in. cries 2 or 3 times and goes to sleep for an hour or 2
I have a 12 year old American cocker who is struggling more with separation anxiety as he gets older. Tried many tips and tricks but nothing seems to be working

I have a 10yr old springer spaniel, i rescued her from an owner who kept her away behind a door in a small room majority of the day until i used to go round twice maybe 3 times a day to walk her, i now have her full time but at night she goes up and starts to whine and loud snort but shes only been doing it for over couple weeks rather than me having her couple months, she does stop most of the time and goes to sleep after half hr - hr, she goes out for alot of exercise and have calming spray do u think she has seperation anxiety or just the fact she dont like being locked up no more, i could leave her out in garden all night but its cat city in my area and goes bonkers if she sees or hears 1
My only criticism is when ever I see this certified bloke speak is to then tune in to will.. Someone coming to u with a problem for u to then pass on that problem to someone else does not make you good at problem solving Why not just start with will video and cut this part out of it

What about if you are already using puppy pads ?
