They currently play in Scotland's Championship within the SPFL pyramid at their home stadium, Tynecastle Park.
In this video I'll be exploring the city of Edinburgh to find out more about Hearts FC!

McRaes battalion was an interesting one. Not only did it involve the whole Hearts squad, but involves alot of players from Raith Rovers, Dunfermline, East Fife, Falkirk, and Hibernian. Heroes every single one of them.
Agree!
Not to forget the St Bernards players who also joined.
Didn't knownany of that. Brilliant.
@@donmacleod2701 Had no idea St Bernards players was in the battalion too that's amazing, makes you wonder what other teams might've been involved!
Thats why it became known as the 'Sporting Battalion' at the time. The battalion was made up with fans from those clubs too. Jack Alexander wrote a book about the battalion, its a fascanating and truly emotional read. Sadly the battalion was decimated during the war and only a small number of the brave souls who served in the battalion returned home.
A few years ago I visited Edinburgh and the first place I went was Tynecastle, with my wife mumbling that she was there for the history of the city, not to see football. Since then she changed her view and understands that football is part of the Scottish culture. Anyway, it was a nice and relaxing experience, a beautiful city and nice people. I'm sorry that Hearts and Hibs don't have the power to compete with Glasgow clubs, it would have been a more intriguing competition.
Love how you see the Scottish game as we do and not write it of as most English people do!
Thanks Stuart!
Just a random American who can’t stop watching your videos. This one of course my favorite! 🇱🇻🇱🇻🇱🇻
Legend, thanks Frank!
Hello Frank...what do you think of our football grounds?
I love the club with all my heart.
So you should!
One of the very best away days you can have in football. Edinburgh by noon, smell of the distilleries in yer nostrils, walk about a lovely city and then with any luck, watch the shed give the jam tarts a pumping. Class ground, always well supported, great atmosphere. Withdrawals kicking in.
The greatest name and club crest in the world. Well done mate , Good video. Pity you never got in to see the stadium.
Thanks, maybe next time!
Another fact filled video, well done Sam, top notch as per.
Cheers Phil :)
Great video my man🇱🇻
I thoroughly enjoyed the video Sam. 👍 Well done.
Many thanks!
I’m a Hearts fan in Australia, thanks for this video, great to watch, hopefully we’ll be back where we belong next season since we were cheated by those SPFL scumbags and unfairly relegated without completing all the fixtures.🇱🇻🏴🇱🇻🔥
You can thank Celtic for that.
@@frederickpeebles8142 wasn’t just Celtic, Hibs and Aberdeen as well.

Hey mate! I'm a Hearts fan, I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, could you recommend a site where I can buy a team t-shirt? It could be the t-shirt for the 2022/23 season. Thanks

like it and love it
The first world war was 1914-1918 not to 1919 as presenter said unless there was something that happened to delay some parts of it that I'm not aware of.
Yeah, 1919 was the year the Americans eventually decided to join in.
The First World war was 1914-1919. November 11th, 1918 was not the end of the war, but an armistice until the Treaty of Versailles in 1919, which marked the official end of the war.
I am a Kilmarnock supporter can you go to Troon thistle

Trust you to think that
28 pts were too still b played for. But we got relegated cos of covid. Shocking!
I know, I can't believe how it all ended! Most leagues around Europe played out their seasons
@@FootyAdventures ano. Sfa are prity corrupt. But we will be up next season and finishing top 4
You should visit Highland league club Turriff united
I'll add them to the list!
Great day out some journey though from bonnyrigg
Is it just me 🤔we’re hearts the only football club who had players that went to war 🤔funny how at ibrox on rememberence day I always thought rangers fans won all our wars 🙈🙈🙈
WW1 ended in 1918 not 1919😂😂
Nope, the armistice was in 1918, but the Treaty of Versailles which formally ended the conflict wasn't signed until 28th June 1919.
why you give celtic so much of your time ,there not a british club ,why dont you go to parkhead with your union flag ,
That's just bigoted crap. I'm not a Celtic supporter, but Celtic are a Scottish team with Irish heritage.
We’ll done for highlighting the brave service that the famous heart of Midlothian football clubs team/ staff/supporters/ done for this wonderful country 🇱🇻🇱🇻🇱🇻🇬🇧🇬🇧thanks
No worries, I can't ignore this amazing story. Cheers for watching!
There’s a tradition, from what I seen, where when you walk over the Heart of Midlothian, you spit on the heart

I dream of a Scottish Big 3 with Hearts in it. With such a beautiful city and stadium, they can make it a reality.
Big five would be better.
Even the buses in Edinburgh are maroon
Ah yeah I did notice that actually!
Another great video. Your videos are excellent, and such a shame that you struggle to get into some/most, grounds. To be fair, you are not going to enhance the profile of Rangers and Celtic, that much, (although it would have been nice if they had entertained you better.. Celtic appeared better than Rangers, but it may have been before your profile raced up the charts), but every other club would improve their profile by embracing your efforts. 10/10 to Stenhousemuir, who appeared to have their eyes open. Some Junior teams as well.
Your doing a fantastic job in raising the profile of Scottish football, and I wish all the clubs would appreciate what this could achieve. Really admire your dedication. Pure dead brilliant.
Legend thanks so much mate! Really appreciate that. Working with a few more clubs in the coming weeks 😊👍
Cool video....learning a lot from your channel 👍
Glad to hear it!
Spitting on the heart for luck is total bollocks though I’ve been on multiple historic tours and they all say the same.

Always had a soft spot for Hearts, love the club colors, badge, and Tynecastle. Its a shame you weren't able to go in, but you still made a very interesting video, and I learned even more about this club that I've always kept an eye on. Edinburgh seems like a wonderful city too. Well done!
Thanks!! Glad you enjoyed mate :)

Another brilliant video
Thanks again!
Wonderful video - sad you weren't able to get a tour, but I see you've managed since. Hearts are my club. They're also the biggest fan-owned club in British football, and I count myself as one of the 8000+ owners.
Surprised you didn't mention the bus colours.
At each end of the city, there are maroon and green buses. As a child, I used to keep score on whether Hibs or Hearts would 'win' before I reached my destination.
Very impressive video, just a little point alluding to one you touched on ,tolbooth that you mentioned (talbooth tavern) towards the end if the video was part of what's called the 'Canongate' talbooth which is located in what was a seperate 'burgh' until 1856, the Canongate or Canonsgait was founded in 1128 and was the link between the Abbey of the Holyrood at the foot of the Royal Mile and the walled city of Edinburgh, obviously by the time Hearts were founded this was all long in the past but unlike the Edinburgh Tolbooth jail the Canongate one still stands, in the form of a pub, great video and keep up the good work from an Edinburgh Hotel concierge and tourguide
Interesting Scottish football fact I don't think you've covered Scottish teams who were part of the sfa could not take part in any other national association tournaments eg fa cup after 1898 but until then they could
Awesome
Another great vid man .good luck during lockdown man

Good video, sad story, well done.
Great video bud
Another cracking video. Tynecastle would be worth another visit once you're allowed back into stadiums as there's some pretty interesting things inside - club museum, memorial garden etc. Also, the Tolbooth Tavern on the Royal Mile is actually housed in the old Canongate Tolbooth. Canongate used to be outwith Edinburgh back in ye olde times and so had it's own.
Also this is worth a watch if anyone wants to learn more about MacCrae's Battalion - ua-cam.com/video/r9GGYvz44UI/v-deo.html - a reading of a brilliant play about them that was put on during the Edinburgh Festival and performed all around Tynecastle a couple of years ago.
Nice video. See you in Edinburgh cause glasgow in tier 4 now 🙈

I may be wrong but didn't Kilmarnock win the league also.
Yeah they did but only once I believe!

First of all extremely fantastic Video this particular one.
My Great Grampa Shields fought in The Battle of The Somme & what's more survived the battle all be it that a large shrapnel wound in his shoulder blad whare they had to dig the shrapnel out he made shirts in Paisley prior to The First Would War.
You should also over The History of Edinburgh's other main football club more in depth to give a balanced imprison of football in Edinburgh.
Hibernian Started from a Catholic Y.M.C.A in The City's Cowgate they pree date Celtic & had a massive part in helping Celtic in there own early day as a club & unlike Celtic yoi actually had to be a practicing Catholic to play for Hibernian in the very early years of the club.
Always had a soft spot for Hearts for so many reasons some included in this video.
Fingers crossed you actually mange to get in to both Tynecastle Park & Easter Road Stadium in Edinburgh looking like that would be realisticy fingers early next year.
I would suggest Ross County & Iboth Inverness clubs next or
Queen of The South.
Thanks for watching Alan! Glad you enjoyed. I'll have to get an "origins of Hibs" filmed at some point! I didn't know a few of those points, so I'll make sure to mention them!
@@FootyAdventures
Did a bit more research in to Hibernian's history for you
Hibernian
The club was named in honour of the Roman name for Ireland and the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
Hibernian meaning Irish in English from
The Roman Hibernia meaning Ireland so if you say someone is a Hibernian it is the same as saying some one is Irish.
St. Patrick's Church in the Cowgate iis where Hibs were formed in 1875
The Cowgate being known as little Ireland at the time.

Canon Edward Joseph Hannan how was Friends with Brother Wilfred the founder of Celtic was it was
Cannon Michael Whelahan that suggested to
Canon Edward Joseph Hannan
to form Hibernian as a way of integrating The Cowgate& Edinburgh's Irish Catholic population in to wider Edinburgh society of the time.
Hibernian players where expected to be member of The Cowgates Catholic Y.M.C.A. & participate in the none consumption of any kind of alcohol
( Temperance )
They play thete first games
at The Meadows in Edinburgh's
South side as did Heart of Midlothian &
much , much later on did Faranti Thistle how we know today as Livingston F.C.
Hibernian moved to Easter Road Stadium in 1892.
Buy 1895 players no longer need to
be of Catholics
Hibernian today drews it's support mainly from The East end , North Edinburgh &
& East Lothian regardless of religion
but not entirely from The East end & North of Edinburgh & East Lothian some elements of Hibernian's fanbase still hold dear to there hearts the clubs original Irish identity but not to the same extent as Celtic do in Glasgow.
You can see looking though Hibernian's crest history they have struggled at times to be comfortable with the club's early history.
You should look in to Hibernian's famous Famous Five it's a big part of Hibernian's European history there glory day's in Europe aswell as
Turnbull's Tornadoes.
And then there was the attempted merger with Heart buy Hearts owner
Wallace Mercer
but prominent local businessman, Kwik-Fit owner Sir Tom Farmer, acquired a controlling interest in
Hibernian to save the day & stop
Wallace Mercer in his tracks from what I remember Wallace Mercer eas hated buy both Hearts & Hibernian fans to to the attempted hostile take over of Hibernian to try & force the merger of both club through.
Hopefully this will help you Sam when doing your own research in to
Hibernian's history.
Would never be a Hibs fan myself but it's never the less important to give a balanced view of football especially in Scotland.
Unfortunately religion has played & continues to play a massive part in Scotland's football clubs I wish this was not so in England many clubs started out from Churches also but thankfully for English people these links did not last to the current day unlike in Scotland & Nothern Ireland.
@@alanfox691 Cheers for that Alan! Love all the info!
Really enjoyed the video, however please do come back when things have opened back up. I'm pretty confident that you will be revising your best stadiums list, because there is simply no better match day experience in Scotland
